Yes it's me again.

I'm currently trying to turn my Gp3 2k into a CART 2002 season and I need some help.

Does anyone know if there are the Denver and Miami tracks available?

Is Matthew "Zanardi" Burge still active in the Gp3 community? Haven't heard from him in a long time?

Is there a fix for the "blue-lines-around-skyscrapers" and "crash-barrieres-suddenly-pop-up" bugs for Surfers Paradise?

I use the round CART wheel in Gp3 2k. I had got it working before, but after reinstalling Gp3 2k the LCD'S are a mess and I don't know how i managed to get th eworking in the right places before. In the cockpit editor they look light they are at the right place, but in game their position apparently hasn't changed so that they are not where they should be on a round wheel.

Paul Edmonds and The Smoking Pen rules.

1.No Denver or Miami circuits yet. Paul Edmonds said that his next project will most likely be the Miami circuit.

2.Matthew Burge's website is still there, but there have been no updates of any sort in a very long time, not even any forum posts, and he never replied to my e-mail to him many months ago.

3a.I don't know what causes the occasional transparency problem that you mention and which I have experienced myself elsewhere. If anyone knows a cure for this I'd love to hear about it.

3b.What "crash-barrieres-suddenly-pop-up" bug?

4.I use the same wheel for CART and the last time I checked it was fine. I'd be glad to send you my files to compare with yours so you can determine what your problem is.

Vader,
I got a "special" version of Surfers Paradise for GP3, if you got the magic 2000 for it, you can have it...
I haven't post it here, because is my own version, with loads of bugs fixed, of Matthew Burge's track.
Let me know...

Regards
Horseman

I'd love to try out your files mates.

"crash-barrieres-suddenly-pop-up" refers to the problem that occurs in the last sector. The crash barriers (with the adds) cannot be seen from a wider distance. It simply pops up out of nowhere when you go into the corner and then disappears again.

For the Denver track, you could use Parklane or Parkway ( can't remember what it is called) circuit as an alternative?

I love Parklane! It's my favourite fictional track ever.

I have found 16 of the CART tracks in use in 2002. Since Gp3 2000 has 17 slots, one is still free and I chose to take HOUSTON in, since I love narrow street circuits (just doing friday session at Long Beach - another exicting track that allows no lack in concetration, not even for the tenth of second).

With GPxPatch and Paddock Championship Editor, what's keeping you from running more than 16 tracks?

I have a 2001 CART Grand Prix 3 with all 21 correct 2001 CART circuits:

1. Fundidora Park
2. Long Beach
3. Texas Speedway - Fort Worth
4. Nazareth Speedway
5. Twin Ring Motegi
6. The Magic Mile - Milwaukee
7. The Raceway at Belle Isle - Detroit
8. Portland International Raceway
9. Burke Lakefront Airport - Cleveland
10.Exhibition Place - Toronto
11.Michigan Speedway - Brooklyn
12.Chicago Speedway - Cicero
13.Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course - Lexington
14.Road America - Elkhart Lake
15.Concord Pacific Place - Vancouver
16.Lausitzring Eurospeedway
17.Rockingham Speedway - Colby
18.Houston
19.Mazda Raceway at Laguna Seca
20.Surfer's Paradise - Gold Coast
21.California Speedway - Fontana

16 of the 19 2001 CART circuits exist for Grand Prix 3.

The 3 missing ones are Denver, Miami, and Mexico City (The 2 GP3 versions of the Mexico City Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez are both of the one used for F1 events from 1986 to 1992 and are different from the layout of that circuit as used by CART.).

That's what I think of the CART tracks:

1. Fundidora Park-GREAT
2. Long Beach-GREAT
3. Texas Speedway - After 6 laps keep spinning off
4. Nazareth Speedway- FANTASTIC
5. Twin Ring Motegi- GREAT (The new version - 1.1 mb)
6. The Milwaukee Mile - Milwaukee - FANTASTIC
7. The Raceway at Belle Isle - Detroit - Unfinished
8. Portland International Raceway - Unfinished
9. Burke Lakefront Airport - Cleveland - FANTASTIC
10.Exhibition Place - Toronto - GREAT (My own version)
11.Michigan Speedway - Brooklyn - Same problem as TEXAS
12.Chicago Speedway - Cicero - Milwaukee Mile with different adds
13.Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course - Lexington - FANTASTIC
14.Road America - Elkhart Lake - FANTASTIC
15.Concord Pacific Place - Vancouver - GREAT
16.Lausitzring Eurospeedway - GREAT (The new version)
17.Rockingham Speedway - Colby GREAT
18.Houston - Unfinished
19.Mazda Raceway at Laguna Seca - GREAT
20.Surfer's Paradise - Gold Coast - GREAT (My own version)
21.California Speedway - Fontana - FANTASTIC

Instead of the unfinished or problematic versions, I use:

Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez - My own version
Indianapolis Motor Speedway by N. Porter - FANTASTIC

If anybody wants to try any of my own versions, you're more than welcome...

I was quite content with the Houston track. Apart from a bit of texture warping in one place (red/white tyres at corner 1 I think) I am actually quite content with it.

I agree that you cannot really race Detroit

Houston's got a really good layout and scenery.
The problem is, apart from the warping textures, some buildings disappear and come back up again, the pit entrance is like a black hole and, of course the main problem, you have to use it in debugged mode.
Hey Vader, what did you think of Surfers Paradise???

You version is great. The blue lines are gone and it looks better than the one I used before. I simply love that track.

(Why doesn't have F1 some really exciting street tracks? I mean the eal thing and not a bore like Monaco. I'd love to see them in Houston, Long Beach or Surfers Paradise.)

Thanks and I agree, I'd like to see the F1 circus there too!

If you want to try my own version of any 2002 CART track, just ask.
I've fixed most bugs in all of them and changed all the adverts/kerbs to 2002 season.
I've also made a "special version" of Detroit 1982-88 and I think it rocks!
