don't they officially only go forward at 2am?

so at 2pm it becomes 3am instead?

yeah i meant 2am becomes 3am.

@ GP3, times change to take advantage of the light. it will now start to become light earlier in the morning, so instead of wasting another hour in bed, you set the clocks 1 hour forward, so you get up while it is light.

then in winter, when it stays dark for longer in the morning, the clocks go back 1 hour, so we stay in bed while it is dark, and get up when it has become more light outside.

but even in winter, it can be dark until 8am, and it can go dark again at 4pm, so 1 hour doesn't make much difference really, it's dark when you leave the house and it's dark when you leave work/college/uni/school.

Always hate the Winter months. It is dark when I wake up and go out in the dark and then come home in the dark too!

there was a debate about this on the radio on wednesday. some people want us to continue changing the clocks twice a year, some want it to be set once and then left forever.

the trial in Scotland as mentioned in the above BBC link was cancelled because a girl got murdered in the morning when it was dark, so they scrapped the idea.
