Manually Update CSM to 2010

I decided to take a break from modeling and just play GP4 for a change, so I made a fresh install of GP4 and CSM and started to modify the ini's.....big mistake.
After 3 failed attempts I cannot get the game to display 2010 driver names.
I changed a lot of things so i thought I'd post what I'm doing and hope the someone can tell me where I'm going wrong.

First I changed the team names (I know this has no effect to the in game names it's just csm menu stuff)

My Mods called Yas Marina, I'm modifiying the 2009 empty Mod by Tony

I opened \Carsets\Yas Marina\Settings\globalvars.ini

First thing change the teams to 2010...I chose to drop HRT.....this is what I changed first

; Car stuff
team01 =mclaren
team02 =ferrari
team03 =bmw
team04 =renault
team05 =toyota
team06 =str
team07 =rbr
team08 =williams
team09 =forceindia
team10 =brawngp
team11 =team11

I changed to ...........

; Car stuff
team01 =mclaren
team02 =mercedes
team03 =rbr
team04 =ferrari
team05 =williams
team06 =renault
team07 =forceindia
team08 =torrorosso
team09 =lotus
team10 =sauber
team11 =virgin

OK the teams section a bit further down shows this........

tweakmod1 =mclaren\01.ini
tweakmod2 =mclaren\02.ini
tweakmod3 =ferrari\03.ini
tweakmod4 =ferrari\04.ini
tweakmod5 =bmw\05.ini
tweakmod6 =bmw\06.ini
tweakmod7 =renault\07.ini
tweakmod8 =renault\08.ini
tweakmod9 =toyota\09.ini
tweakmod10 =toyota\10.ini
tweakmod11 =str\11.ini
tweakmod12 =str\12.ini
tweakmod13 =rbr\13.ini
tweakmod14 =rbr\14.ini
tweakmod15 =williams\15.ini
tweakmod16 =williams\16.ini
tweakmod17 =forceindia\17.ini
tweakmod18 =forceindia\18.ini
tweakmod19 =brawngp\19.ini
tweakmod20 =brawngp\20.ini
tweakmod21 =team11\21.ini
tweakmod22 =team11\22.ini

So I modified it to show this.....

tweakmod1 =mclaren\01.ini
tweakmod2 =mclaren\02.ini
tweakmod3 =mercedes\03.ini
tweakmod4 =mercedes\04.ini
tweakmod5 =rbr\05.ini
tweakmod6 =rbr\06.ini
tweakmod7 =ferrari\07.ini
tweakmod8 =ferrari\08.ini
tweakmod9 =williams\09.ini
tweakmod10 =williams\10.ini
tweakmod11 =renault\11.ini
tweakmod12 =renault\12.ini
tweakmod14 =forceindia\14.ini
tweakmod15 =forceindia\15.ini
tweakmod16 =torrorosso\16.ini
tweakmod17 =torrorosso\17.ini
tweakmod18 =lotus\18.ini
tweakmod19 =lotus\19.ini
tweakmod20 =sauber\20.ini
tweakmod21 =sauber\21.ini
tweakmod22 =virgin\22.ini
tweakmod23 =virgin\23.ini
tracklist=
preview4=
preview14=
preview16=
preview22=

*Note* I removed number 13 as there isn't one in 2010

The next thing I did was browse to \Carsets\Yas Marina\Data\Tweaker\gp4tweak_merge and rename the folders there to reflect the team changes in the globalvars.ini
Then I re-arranged the .ini's in the folders to match the changes I'd just made.

13.ini became 23.ini I modified these areas of the 13.ini

To change driver names, team names, engine names and car numbers ingame, you should use a .txt performance file (lots on topics on it already). I just don't know exactly where it goes in the Empty Mod.

And I think you should keep tweakmod13 even if it's not a car number, as it's a variable name that could be used somewhere else.

Thx Paulo......yes I know that.....I was starting my editing description at the beginning the physics section was coming later.
and that's another problem....all the gpxtweak options are greyed out in CSM i can't select a performance file, and it's not clear where to put the file in the csm mod.

Quote from the Empty Mod readme ......

PERFORMANCE ==============================================================
Best thing is to paste any perf data into the files already there.

I tried pasting it into the default 2009.txt, but the driver names in game changed to the original 2001 names. I've pasted the perf files everywhere, CSM takes them when I run the mod, but doesn't seem to use them.

Anyway thanks for your help...and just to keep things an track if I do leave the tweakmod13 that makes it more confusing than ever.
Is removing the tweakmod13 and adding the tweakmod23 the wrong thing to do ?

thx

The performance file selection in CSM will always be greyed out because it will always use the .txt files that are inside the Mod's folder.

About the variables, I think the best is to leave:
tweakmod13=forceindia\14.ini
...
tweakmod22=virgin\23.ini

I can download the Empty Mod when I'm back home to try and give better help.

Ok, I'll leave the variable alone, makes things confusing tho'...mind you ...it already is :)

perhaps you should disable quick start in CSM and manually choose perfomance file from the folder in gpxpatch.

ha ha ha ha ha h.......this is nuts! I've finally got it working.......I'm using my own TSM tracklist. You have to paste the performance into the name of the performance file of the slot that tsm is using....I have Melbourne 2010 in slot 3 witch is China/Shanghai, I paste 2010 performance into 2009-Shanghai.txt and it works. lol.....that's crazy...am I missing something ?...shouldn't TSM know this ?

Ok this is what I've done so far...it seems to be working ok.....now I've sussed out what CSM is doing with the performance files ;)
