...and place to...

New name, new identity, new features, new bugfixes, new user guide...
Here is at last and after nearly one year since the last 3deditor version the new revision of my GP4 3D editing tool.

At the end this new version is the answer to three 3 objectives :
- creating faster : new mouse direct selection, magnetized vertice, pitlane kerbs and fence creation, new shortcuts ...
- creating better : new HD tracks, new mapping options, enhanced fences creation...
- creating safer : unified .gp4 and .bin creation method for less crashes in game and many many bugfixes...

And I hope it will fullfill them and allows creation of many new great and working tracks for GP4.

As I can't update my site in time for the release and that I promised that this version will be here at midnight (and during the time I wrote this text, its 12 past midnight), I will post the direct link here anyway.
(site is now half updated, so link above now points to it)

Best regards and Merry Christmas to you all,

Laurent aka Lo2k

PS: As I know you love full changelogs, heer is the complete one since 3DEditor 17.6 with old school style. Enjoy :)

Wow Laurent :-o

That's one of the best christmas gifts I ever received :)

When reading the change log I see how many nice features have been added I was waiting for earlier :) - better work on .col file, better work on fences, kerbs in pitlane, invert bin normals, slincing the track parts to 10 sectors lenght and many others :) :) :)

Now I am waiting for correct realtime JipMapping display...but no hurry :)

Thanks, thanks, thanks....great evolution for track builders :)
Btw, good idea to change the name of your programme according to the huge step forward :)

Does it make sense to recreate the .bins and to re-save the .gp4 files of unstable tracks which cause unforsen CTDs? Is there a chance that they will be more stable due to these fixes?

Thanks everyone :) (but try the tool before saying it's great, who knows ? ;))

Anyway, I will have to leave you now because I will drive to Paris tomorrow (well, in some hours now), so I need to recover a little from the latest hard days :)

Any report on GP4 Builder is welcome anyhow and will be taken in account as soon as I will be back from Paris, in a little week. So feel free to let them here or on RealGPx forums (particulary if you get any trouble/bug). Thanks.

@Ruboy: Yes, it makes sense but be sure to go to preferences first and to set HD Subdivisions (1 & 2) to 9000.
This way generated .bin file will match your low-definition (no offense, I mean : compared to new possibilities) .gp4 track.

Matter with .bin files is that the number of sectors (and sub-sectors) must match .gp4 3d sectors. That's something that works much better in GP4Builder than it did in 3DEditor as in 3DEditor, .gp4 sectors were usualy well created but not .bin sectors.

Ok...thanks. I'll give it a try :)

Just a small mistake in the user guide to fix for your future versions.
You wrote: Created in 2003 as GP4 Viewer, it grew up under the most known name of GP4 Builder to now re-born as GP4 Builder.

I assume that you mean: ...it grew up under the most known name of 3DEditor to....

PS: Thanks, error has been fixed and online package is already updated :)
