Dave, read posts in context. As a fan I expect every team who comes to F1 to bring SOMETHING with them that adds to my enjoyment of the sport. Teams like Renault (example) may not have much personality, but they've got their own character now thanks to the likes of Mike Gascoyne, Flavio Briatore, and their reputation for fast starts - and the fact that they'er the World Champions, so can obviously build a good car.
At the other end of the scale you've got (example) Jordan, Minardi, Red Bull, Stewart. They bring bags of character to F1, in one way or another. Something to make you cheer when they do well.
Midland, on the other hand, appear to bring nothing. There's no characters in the team (even Johnny Herbert doesn't seem as enthusiastic as I remember him), there's no personality, there aren't even any results. They exist seemingly solely as an expensive means of promoting their brand name.
As for depriving a team from entering F1, it was barely 2 months ago that we discovered that 12 applicant teams were all vying for the one available slot in F1 2007. Even if only a third of these were serious and capable, that's still 4 teams going for one spot. Three had to be let down - the likes of Stoddart or Jordan, who WOULD bring something to the sport.
At that point, Schnadier had the option to announce that he did not want to enter F1 2007, and allow one of these other new teams the chance to take up a second 'free' slot in the sport, but he did not. This is how he deprived a genuine enthusiast from being in F1.
Finally, I don't know where you get the idea from that we are 'having a go' at Schnadier. I think that the vast majority of this forum is 100% behind him selling the team. The reasons we offer for this support are listed nicely in this thread. If someone offered me a substantial profit on a back-of-the-grid team, of course I would take it, and I would encourage Midland to do the same.
Now; if you would like to highlight the parts of this argument which you consider 'bollocks', I would be happy to discuss them further.
