Haug to leave Mercedes

According to a statement made by Mercedes today Norbert Haug will leave the company after 23 years at the end of the year.

Except that Niki didn't exactly work many miracles when he was heading up Jaguar a few years back.

Jaguar was a cluster-@#$%& though. Even Chuck Norris couldn't have shagged life into that corpse.
Plus he's more experienced now.

Looks like Michael left at the right time then. Lewis'll experience a drought much like Villeneuve.

That's my impression as well. It was well more than just a 60 year old retiring to enjoy the peaceful sunset years.
Haug talked about an "amicable decision", so both sides wanted to end the contract. He also said there had been talks with the management - "fair and honest as always and on eye-level". You wouldn't need to emphasize that if you just planned to become a pensioner.
