I got this one while playing GP3 2000... When I change to wets, it looks OK on cockpit and onboards, but I can't say the same about viewing modes...

There's another solution than reverting to original tread__.bmp files?

So that means that the software texture is okay and the hardware one is not, unless GP3-2k doesn't manage the tires the same way as GP3 (which would surprise me tbh ;))

it's because the tyre bitmaps have probably been through
gp3edit at some time which converts them to 72 pixels per inch
load them into a paint program and convert to 640 ppi, this
should solve the problem.

Converted to 640ppi... Nothing has changed... Even if I load the GP3 palette over it... Or should open the textures through GPxPatch?

just checked my tyres

software bitmaps are at 72, I think I imported the palette
from the original bitmaps

hardware bitmaps are 640 for wheels and 480 for tread don't
touch these with gp3edit as it'll revert them back to 72

use gpxpatch for assigning tyres

I've found what was the problem behind the buggy wet tyres... I've tested it and find out that there had some tread__.bin files, which had to match with the HW textures...

Now the problem is: there's a way to update the "tread__.bin" files in GP3 2000 (rather than acquiring the 1.13 ones?)

I got a way to update all tyre set... With GP3Edit... To GP3 2000!! All you need it's a folder with the following files (and ONLY the following files):

- \gp3\gp3.exe

The 1.13 executable file, to make GP3Edit to work...

- \gp3\gp3jams\main\whblur0.jam
- \gp3\gp3jams\main\whblur1.jam

The tyre 1 software textures

- \gp3\gp3jams\main\whbridg0.jam
- \gp3\gp3jams\main\whbridg1.jam

The tyre 2 software textures

- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\whblur0.bmp
- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\whblur1.bmp

The tyre 1 hardware textures

- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\whbridg0.bmp
- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\whbridg1.bmp

The tyre 2 hardware textures

- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\treadbs1_art.bmp
- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\treadbs2_art.bmp

The tyre 1 wet textures

- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\treadgy1_art.bmp
- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\treadgy2_art.bmp

The tyre 2 wet textures

- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\tread00.bin
- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\tread01.bin
- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\tread02.bin
- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\tread03.bin
- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\tread10.bin
- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\tread11.bin
- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\tread12.bin
- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\tread13.bin

The encoding for tyre 1 wet textures

- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\tread20.bin
- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\tread21.bin
- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\tread22.bin
- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\tread23.bin
- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\tread30.bin
- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\tread31.bin
- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\tread32.bin
- \gp3\gp3jamsh\techjam\tread33.bin

The encoding for tyre 2 wet textures

(The tread.bin files MUST MATCH with the tread.bmp files, or it will make the tyres messy, as the screenshot shows...)

Then, you export the textures for your "tyre only" GP3 1.13, then you overwrite the gp3jams and gp3jamsh folders to GP3 2000...

But remember: B A C K U P ! !
