strange mexican graphic problem... (solved)

Hi guys.
Now, i have this really nice graphic bug, but only in Mexico City track, and only whit the two 1990 Brabham.
Something related to the colour? or the "Gp3 colour palette" command in t0?

Any idea?
I made a few update of the original track, as usual, nothing notable.
Thnaks.
Claudio

..as you said: I would first try to open the jams with jamEditor and define it as non transparent. If that doesn´t help I would eliminate the black pixels and replace them with some dark-greys.

hope that helps

The strange is that only half of the car is affected, and the other half has the same colour...
And why only in this track...

It was as easy as a jam id conflict.
I had added a jam file with id 300, the same of the car liveries in the image.
Changed id, problem solved.

I get same problem with Vallalunga. Perhaps this is a clue to fixing it too.

In general this kind of problem is related to a jam id conflict, if you set the same id for two or more jams...
But it is easy to solve.

Sounds simple but I don't know how to do this. Might you be willing to fix it for me? Or explain how you find the two files with same number and which you changed to what new number.
Vallalunga
I'd really appreciate it!

hi elio, i'll have a look at vallalunga if you want, and make a little how to....
are you running 1.13 or 2K?

@ elio : i ran it in 1.13 and i saw 2 cars in pink liveries.
The problem for 1.13 is the jam 'terreni' with id 301 and 302.

There are more suspicious id's and i do not know how they would react in different situations.
The best, for me, would be a complete rebuild with well proven id's.

btw : there is a list with unusable jam id's when you open a ###.dat and go to help/jam id's unusable.

I am running it in 1.13 The two pink cars are team mates I think which makes me believe that the single livery Jam for that team is in conflict with a scenery jam of some kind. If I can tell which it is and rename that one, perhaps the problem will be solved as it was for the mexican track. Any ideas?

rename the jam id's in the jam 'terreni' : 301 becomes 201 and 302 becomes 202 and save the jam

open the dat with track editor, go to t29, t30 and t31 and change the texture id for the ribbons

Hi Holemad

I can use Jam editor ok to rename files and do very basic things in Track editor, but changing the 't' numbers on the right ribbons is not something I have done.

Might you do me a big favour? Would you make those changes for me? I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks

Hi Holemad

Sorry to come back with another question. Vallalunga runs well now. No purple cars. But I have now noticed that the armco barriers have gone black as if the jams are missing. I have check the uncorrected version of the file and there there before. Has a command changed to direct to a different armco jam from the ones I have?

Thanks again.

that might be the problem, elio.
if i remember it right, i've put 2 scenery commands for the fences, and i didn't include the jam in the update.

I'll check/fix it when i get home :-)

Hi Dirk

I have tried it out. No pink cars of course and armco can now be seen. However, the armco are very blurry and I get a CTD half way around the lap now.

If you can suggest a fix that is great, but I can't expect you to as you've already helped so much.:-)

Cheers.

they should be fine now, and i drove several laps without a problem.
Did you place the jam folder 'vallelunga' in gp3jamsh?
