It's just a little championship in a F1 forum. I'd like to test the time code limit, but I just don't know anything about it.
How does it all work? (details!)

Grand Prix 3 No...
It's something about a code with a password, to limit how much time you have to save your hotlap/race in a offline championship.

Grand Prix 3 What is it and how does it works?
Thanks.

Grand Prix 3 You'll need the Paul Hoad's Car Editor 3.7.
Import the shape from the exe.
Import the ctf file (file > import ctf)
Export the shape to the exe.
That's all.
I made a 2003 car shape. You can get it at grandprixgamer.com and f1gp.com.br
Good racing

Grand Prix 3 Jordan Fan, if you have all the measurements and nice pic's of the 2003 Jordan's car, send to me!
Maybe I can develop a Jordan shape.

Grand Prix 3 Sorry my poor English :p
MarkWS, thank you!
Jordan Fan, to make the skin fit to the shape...
You have to edit the polygons proportionally to the polygons of the original shape. I mean...
If a original polygon is 200x300 and if you want to enlarge it, you could do it this way, adding 10%:
220 x 330
Just a example!
So, the polygon is now bigger and the skin won't be distorted.
But this

Grand Prix 3 Inertia
The GP3APE help file says:
Inertia = Mass * (a^2 + b^2) / 12
where a and b are length and width perpendicular to the axis of rotation.
What the hell... "where a and b are length and width perpendicular to the axis of rotation." (???) What does it means??? How to calculate the X, Y and Z inertia values????????
I just want to know it. Thanks.

Grand Prix 3 Hello guys
Please take a look at the topic "Realistic 2003 Physics: let's develop it!".
It would be great if you may help me.
Thank you

Grand Prix 3 1) Downforce Coefficient.
GP4 default is 2202 kg. I think the 2003 cars have larger values...
How can I calculate the downforce coefficient? What abou Drag?

Grand Prix 3 bigears:
Well, to design a realistic shape, I do need the technical regulations, some cars' diementions (wheelbase, width, length and heigth) and nice photos (like the ones taken on the 2003 "launch parties".
With the real measurements, I can convert milimeters to "points" and build the shape.
But I can't find any year's technical regulations but 2003.
Annoying!

Grand Prix 3 Montoya:
I can see only one thing wrong with this car... No mirrors. Any chance of adding some?
I do hate those ugly black/grey mirrors
There are 4 pieces of the car (2 each side) that can be used to build the mirrors. If you all want mirrors, I can improve it.
I can also use the lower rear suspension. Who knows.

Grand Prix 3 ooohhhh thanks!!!
I searched throughout the FIA's site, but I could not find the technical regulations of any year but 2003. I need these regulations to design the shape...
The shapes I made based only on pictures got very horrible
So, thanks again. I'm gonna check these links!

Grand Prix 3 Hey people, please
I am willing to design more carshapes.
It would be very cool If someone could send me the technical regulamentations of any year. The tyre's and car's dimentions are essential.
Some pic's are welcome too.
Thanx

Any chance it will be in the downloads of Grandprixgames.org?
No.
I think they cancelled my login and I will not register again.
But I will upload the shapes to other sites soon!

Grand Prix 3 b-tone... I do not play/edit GP4 because of my machine!
Montoya... I play GP3 v1.13 and the shapes are working very well. I don't know if they work with GP3-2000.
bigears... I tried to place the helicam like we see on TV If you want a a helicam "in line" with the car, you can easily edit the cameras via GP3edit.
You can try something like this:
X: 0
Y: -5000
Z: 5000

Grand Prix 3 Long, long way!
I want to make other car shapes... And I know a way to make any shape look realistic, without editing the tyres and with no texture distortions!
But I need a lot of info. The Technical Regulamentations are essential.
So, if you could send me technical (measurements) info's, that would be great
Maybe a 80's shape? F3000 shape? F-Renault? I don't know.

Grand Prix 3 Yeah, I know
I don't know if this can help, but (simple) maps of the new tracks can be found at the FIA site:

Maybe it is sufficient to make the new real track layout... or something close

Grand Prix 3 Try to put the brake balance backwards!
Remember: The higher downforce on the rear, the less braking force you need on the rear whells.
At Monza you have to put a lot of brakes on the rear...
At Monaco you don't.
But be careful. Too much braking force on the rear can make you spin when cornering and braking at the same time. So, you have to test!

I am also working on a generic 2003 shape. It's getting very realistic
I'm using the dimensions I found in the 2003 F1 Technical Regulations and being carefull with texture distortions. The t-cam is getting very nice too.
I think it will be finished in one or two weeks.
A 2003 physics file is going to be released soon.

Grand Prix 3 Well, I never developed a setup for this track.
I think a high downforce setup with a hard suspension (softer in the rear) can work very well.
Maybe 20/16 in the wings.
