Grand Prix 3 Components (gearbox for instance) are so light nowadays that teams can play around with weight distribution (ballast) as they need. Bridgestone tyres are known for requiring more weight on the front track and it is believed that a forward weight bias is often used. So, 50-50 is the best option I think. As of KERS, weight figures aren't clear but Ferrari's was quoted as weighting as low

Grand Prix 3 You probably got an used tyre set in your final stint, thus the poor grip.
GP3 follows 1998 sporting regulations.
From the GP3 manual, hope this helps:
Tyre Rules
The rules surrounding the selection of tyres are complicated, however, they do add to the
strategic nature of the sport. Note: A ‘set’ of tyres consists of all four tyres (2 front and
2 rear) required by one car.

Grand Prix 3 I made a 2005 carset. You can find it in the gp4 section (yes, gp4. It shouldn't be there).
I made also a 2005 performance pack but it is unfinished I think. You'll eventually find it.

Grand Prix 3 Patrick's version needs a different jam folder name than the one given in the txt file. I don't remember what it should be but you can check with track editor... or do a search, I am totally sure this has been discussed here before.

Grand Prix 3 Hi,
52-55 are different dry tyres that you can choose for each track.
56-59 seem to behave like intermediate-to-moonsoon tyres, with very low grip and huge wear.
Each tyre type has its own specific grip and wear pattern. In addition, one should NOT assume that a higher value gives a harder tyre, even though 55 is the hardest and most resistent as far as I can remember (and YES laptimes

Grand Prix 4 oops,
For wing settings, just add 151.
If you want 20/20 (Monaco), just use 171/171.
If you want, let's say, 8/6 (Monza), use 159/157.
The same for gear ratios.
However, there IS a random factor for AI cars. I mean, if the rear wing is set to 10, it can be either 9, 10 or 11. It varies from team to team in each session you start. As far as I can remember, when set to 1 it is e

Grand Prix 3 Just to make sure...
Have you guys understood what I'm asking?
by
SuperSonic
-
Grand Prix 3 Yeah, I've guessed you had enhanced the simulation of decreasing lap times by using more fuel and higher consumption. That's a nice trick. However, for GP3 1.13 I'd be more than happy with usual fuel settings and tyre type 55, and then editing grip as needed.
I've got the best available estimations of fuel consumption from the FIA website (the same ones considered to refuel

Grand Prix 3 Sure other parameters deal with fuel consumption.
My doubt is, given that "fuel???" affects the actual ammount of fuel per lap you are loaded with, I'm trying to get a factor to convert it to a known unit of measurement, once this parameter seems to change fuel ammount linearly.
Obviously they assumed an ammount of fuel per lap in kg, lb, l, gallons, whatever, and then in the

Grand Prix 3 I searched but failed to find any info related to my doubt.
I finally managed to find through the FIA website all info regarding fuel consumption for all tracks. Thus, I'd like to mess around with magic data to get accurate fuel loads and consumption.
The question is: what is the unit used in the "fuel???" field? I remember I read somewhere it is "pounds X 1000". Ho

Grand Prix 3 Yes, it is.
Click the "Show Points" button (the one with a red dot and a black line). Look inside the cockpit, you should find two red points. One is helmet position and the other is the focus point for track camereas. If you import the shape from gp3.exe, you can show helmet shape as well, but beware: the points mentioned are reversed in car editor. So when you change helmet positio

Grand Prix 3 @ R_Scandura
Setups for AI are easy to do (according to the top speed/lap time basically). But for the human player I don't know what you people prefer. I'd much rather have specific setups to "feel" the handling of a soft/high or stiff/low car, depending on the circuit's characteristics, and then make adjustments as needed.
@ Remédio:
Great idea, I'll try it in

Grand Prix 3 Sorry Roberto, I didn't get exactly what you mean.
I can adjust AI's precisely. But to make it challenging for the player, there are two ways: to develop a good setup and all the necessary changes to make it fair or simply to use default suspension setup, adjust grip and add packers as needed (more or less what belini does).

It would be possible, drafi.
However the magic data must be specifically made for a given *.dat and GP3 version, which means we must choose beforehand the tracks and the game to be used. Also, I would need some vital information.

- How to calculate qualifying performances (given that laptimes are not exa

Grand Prix 3 Is anyone willing to update GP3 to 2008?
I am already working on a 2008 carshape. Perhaps I'll have a go at helmets if I feel I'm not alone in this endeavor.
@ Car-painters:
As far as I know all teams have adopted a zero-keel design. Therefore, there's no need to paint complex structures and transparencies on the front part of the car. Just paint it with solid colours and th

Grand Prix 3 Hi drafi.
I just can't stay away for too long :P I've been reading the forum though.
It seems that gp32000+gpxpatch loads some dll files in a way it crashes. It is not happening only to gp3-2000, but to several programs. More info in the link above.

Grand Prix 3 You'll need some patience, but all you have to do is to equally edit all the vertices in each one of the four corners of the mirror. It will move both the bodywork (and its details) and the mirror itself.
Let's say you want to move the mirrors backwards:
Double-click in a corner of a mirror. Don't mind what vertice it is, mirror or bodywork. Just keep your mouse-arrow still a

Grand Prix 3 You need Cockpit Camera Editor by Frank Triggs.
I thought my 2005 shape featured this editor... actually, it was a plan for the unreleased 2006 shape, because the link isn't working:
Should/Can I upload it without Frank's consent?
Once you have this editor, just follow the instructions of my 2005 shape.
