Allright, sports fans, here's my Osterreichring - Monza double... Round 10: Austrian Grand Prix - Osterreichring Qual: Weather was warm & sunny in the Steyr mountains during practice and the action was a nail-biter itself for BRM fans Jacky Ickx set the benchmark of 1:28.319 but Jean-Pierre Beltoise was on course for his third pole of the year. However much to everyone's disby Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
Thx for explanation. I've never done any reverse grid races tbhby Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
Looks like you've jumped into the overall lead quite early this time. Your opposition should be worried I presume you set your grid position via quickrace options and AI are just done randomly by the game? I've finished Osterreichring & Monza, will post reviews when I get into some proper writing moodby Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
Abdelkader has won the 2007 title, while I'm still fighting for 1972 honours... Round 10: German Grand Prix - Hockenheim Qual: The version without chicanes was all about speed and despite having the lowest possible downforce, my BRM was still no match for Ferrari and Emerson Fittipaldi. Jacky Ickx won pole with Mario Andretti second and Fittipaldi third. Jackie Stewart sneaked into foby Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
Well done, mate. Very impressive second half of the seasonby Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
Best luck for you, Marcus... Hope you can enjoy your life in the near future again...by Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
Great work mate, that Fisichella Benetton looks particulary great IMOby Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
@abdelkader, Yes, unfortunately I'm in a position where every point is important if I'm going to make any challenge on Fittipaldi whose Lotus is almost bulletproof, having suffered just one DNF all year (admittedly he did have a torrid race in Jarama too). I can swallow my Kyalami DNF since that was fairly early in the race but those six points from Rouen could yet make some differenby Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
Round 8: French Grand Prix - Rouen-les-Essarts Qual: My low-downforce setup wasn't really doing any favours but the session ended in a real misery. I was stuck down in 15th place following a couple of off-track excursions when on my final run I got a tow behind Carlos Reutemann into the main straight but he slowed down and was coming into the pits and I got caught unaware of this and craby Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
Nice to see somebody else trying to do a full season. I wonder if Gilles Villeneuve ever thought he'll race in Bahrain I've finished my Rouen race but I'm still furious about the outcome, so I'll post my review later...by Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3

Back on track with my 1972 F1 season! Round 7: Belgian Grand Prix - Nivelles Qualifying: Having never turned a wheel in a competitive session at this track - excluding some hotlapping I did four years ago IIRC - Nivelles was a great unknown for my BRM as 1972 season reached the half-way point. My championship challenge was not neccessarily very impressive with Monza and Mosport - potentialby Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
abdelkader wrote: "That's good you got the podium at last. You're lucky though, because you managed to get to the pits with a damaged car and you got back to the race. Congratulations, good work" Yeah, I was lucky enough it was only the brakes. AI cars also manage to get back to the pits sometimes, allthough in Monaco Hill failed to do so whereas Amon did. Together with elby Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
I realized I scored seven points so far, not six as stated in my previous race review. There goes my maths Anyway after a week off it's back to bussiness in Monaco... Round 6: Monaco Grand Prix - Monte Carlo Qual: I've set the probability of rain at 75% for both qual & race and sure enough it was raining at the start of qualifying. I managed to sneak into third place just 0.by Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
Bahrain GP is over so I can post my Jarama review Round 5: Spanish Grand Prix - Jarama Qual: Unexpectedly it was raining at the start of the session but forecast predicted track drying out in the last 20 minutes. Jean-Pierre Beltoise sat out the first forty minutes then as all other cars struggled in the rainy conditions. However when it stopped raining the track was still wet and with 5by Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
@ abdelkader Well, I actually don't have any problems with tyre wear at Mosport, that's probably why I'm always doing well there. Apart from Moss hairpin there are no heavy braking points and lots of smooth & fast corners instead. Yeah, I use a one stop strategy at Mosport too, but I will do two stops at Jarama though... Mosport in many ways is similar to Zandvoort (the oldby Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
@abdelkader Thx, I'm gonna try to run Jarama somewhere during the weekend. Two hours of a real struggle btw, out of the 1972 tracks my strongest almost surely will be Mosport. I always do very well there and during some rainy races I managed to lap the field in the past.... Can't wait for another try thereby Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
Round 4: BRDC International Trophy - Silverstone Qualifying: Silverstone old-version layout has traditionally been one of my strongest tracks, so I've entered the qualifying with high hopes. Nobody could match the pace of Jacky Ickx and Emerson Fittipaldi though, this time it was the Belgian who snatched pole ahead of the Brazilian. Clay Regazzoni was third and Jean-Pierre Beltoise fourtby Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
Yeah, Williams are dead last on 1972 performance level with Graham Hill just above them. Actually Pace was having a decent scrap for the last spot with teammate Pescarolo but then retired After Silverstone comes Jarama, my nemesis among the vintage GP3 tracks. I've run the full 90 lap distance a few times before, once I crashed out only eight laps before the finish when my tires were shot dby Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
Round 3: Brazilian Grand Prix - Interlagos Qualifying: I've never raced on the old layout so I was actually puzzled in terms of the setup. First part of the circuit was pretty much flat out with the twisty section later around the lap so I've decided to go with low downforce setup. It proved to be not the best decision though and despite the fact Emerson Fittipaldi smacked everyoneby Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
Round 2: South African Grand Prix - Kyalami Qualifying: Weather once again came into play during Grand Prix weekend, this time affecting Kyalami practice. Only the first five minutes were held in dry conditions and it rained ever since then, so all the times were set on the first run out of the pits. I came 8th after being blocked by de Adamich on my quicker lap with Mario Andretti and Jackyby Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
Stop the press. BRM targets 1972 F1 World Championship with experienced Frenchman Jean-Pierre Beltoise heading a four car line-up for the team managed by Louis Stanley. Lotus and Ferrari remain the other title contenders with the Italian squad the second outfit to enter four cars including one for Chris Amon who left Matra after their unexpected filling for bankruptcy. Talking about mechanical failures, some of those appear more frequently on certain tracks, i.e. there is always a huge ammount of suspension failures at Montjuich Park or engine failures at Monza. That can be defined in magic data.by Mr. Lee - Grand Prix 3
