My new track: Liverpool Waterfront Circuit (UPDATE 15/12/09)

First things first, Ive decided on a name! "Liverpool Waterfront Circuit". Still a lot of work to be done, but this vid is to show the work done on the road surface mostly. All road markings and elevations are 99% accurate to real life (I should know, Ive walked the route a few times!). Also brand new textures added for road and wall surfaces. Work still to be done? Lots. Buildings, bumps and pits to name the obvious few, not to mention cameras and AI. Will get there eventually though. If you want to help out, just contact me!
The mod is FN2008. Laptime 1m42.975s. Music is Walk Idiot Walk by The Hives.

It would be great if GP4 modders could come accross this, some guys have 3d buildings lying around, and some are very good and quick and could do some rather quickly .
Have you considered downloading a Liverpool pack thing for Flight Simulator and just converting the buildings?

@ Gui, I hadnt thought about the whole flight sim thing. My dad is actually quite heavily into that kind of thing so I think I may be asking him about it next time I see him lol!
@ fongu, if you ever find you have the time then I would be willing to have your help in an instant! If you wanted reference material, all you would need to do it ask me to go for a walk in my lecture break

Im pleased to announce that Ive been able to contact a few of the guys responsible for the models you can find on google earth. Im currently in the process of sorting them for bobs track builder and rfactor so work is ongoing, but i thought i would post a few shots of the work that is going on textures will probably be re done in the future.

They do keep moving those lamb bananas and the submarine - maybe you can put them in a fictitious place near the docks?

Sorry about the immense lack of news recently! Had a few uni assignments that needed to be handed in and obviously they take priority . Ive sort of hit the brick wall where I would need to seriously get into 3d modelling to do the buildings and scenery properly (most of the buildings you see are taken from google earth). Unfortunately I havent got the software or the know how for this kind of thing so unless I get some "outside assistance" then this is probably as far as the track is ever going to get.
That doesn't mean I'm giving up though just, I dont know how long it will take to finish lol. I gave a copy to the Renault F1 display team who were in Liverpool before christmas but I havent heard anything back yet.
