Ok, this is getting on my nerves now. If any you iRacing users here could answer my question, I'd be really grateful.

Basically, I might be racing, testing, practicing, and suddenly my car stops and I go back to the menu screen. In the message box thing, it says 'Received Throughput Fell to an Unacceptable Level'. I was doing warmup in preparation for a race just now, and I got this message, and if I get it, I can't continue, I have to exit and then relanuch iRacing from my member page. Problem was, as I said, I got it through warmup, and by the time I had relaunched iRacing, the other guys were two laps into the race, and there was no way I was ever going to catch them up. So, my first race ruined by an error. Great.

At first, I thought it could be my driving; maybe I hadn't let someone through or something, but then it happened when I was going perfectly, no one behind me to let through, and I was on a flying lap anyway.

Then I thought it could be my internet, as my connection is a bit awkward atm.

Could any of lot shed any light on this? I'd be really grateful if you could.

Thanks.

I think 'Received Throughput Fell to an Unacceptable Level' is internet connection related.

Yea, it means basically their server isn't getting your packets for some reason or another.

I had this issue when I first started, was due to wireless. I made a post in the forum over there (Random Disco's and Quality Spikes) and the basic consensus is for some reason iRacing REALLY hates wireless.

Obviously, if your unwired wire up ;)

Solved my problem, but if your wired already.......

Could be anything from your own wireless (as Smorr said) to your ISP or just pure distance to the server (like an Aussie racing on an American server).

Normally this sort of problem comes from a mainstream ISP (perhaps something like Virgin or AOL in the UK) not having a particularly good ping time, especially around peak times, and as a result the server doesn't get enough of your data quick enough, so it deems you a danger (as your car would be erratic or randomly disappearing and reappearing in relation others), so it kicks you off the server in order to make for a safer race for others.

Ping is king in online racing.

That Vette looks yummy.... Cant wait to see some actual screenies....

Regarding a modern F1 car.....

[members.iracing.com]

"We will have a modern F1 car at some point. Multiple discussions in the works.

Tony"

Well there is one iRacing staffer saying that it's likely eventually... Perhaps it's not to farfetched?

iRacing just gets better and better :)

At first I was pretty skeptical of the pricing but after I tried it a few months back its just great, even better now with the lower prices!

Cant wait till I get my new PC + Wheel, will subscribe again straight away. Gotta get the Skip Barber out to get that licence back up ;)

Thanks for that :)

Good to see I can use the radical to get through C licence then, don't have to buy the Star Mazda now if I don't want to!

I need to get to A licence asap ;)

Giganormous panorama from VIR.

Thumbnailed for size of course. Click the pic for the whole shebang.

But, tomorrow SHOULD see the Vette and Dallara being released. Which means, well, I'll be racing that Vette, obviously.

Gignormous panorama from Mosport, sitting at the bottom of T2.

Large version.

Still-Plenty-Big-Version

The small version looks better, but, well, some like huge images for no reason. Take yer pick.
