I think for sim racers, what they want are cars which move around alot, thats not F1, and thats generally why hardcore sims usually have touring/gt type cars or smaller single seaters. bar of course the addition of the FW31 to iRacing :p
The FW31 appears to be very, very eagily anticipated in iRacing. I doubt I'd race it, but I'll probably end up buying it just to experience it.
I personally do like cars which move around a lot - in iRacing, the few races I've done this year (I've getting bored of all sim racing
) have been in the Mustang, which is great fun - but one of the most popular series, certainly early on, was the Star Mazdas, which are hardly opposite-locking beasts, so I think it's just down to preference.
It's the way it is in reality too though. When we go karting, if it's wet, I prefer to win the opposite lock race, while others are going outright for the win. If it's dry, you can't really slide them that much, so I just race too.
