im not sure if this is the right thread or not, ive just got rFactor and i've installed the MMG07 mod and also the tv overlays. However if i dont select drive quickly enough in the pit menu then the button disappears. Also when i am driving the car the game will suddenly quit back to the main menu. what is going wrong and what can i do to fix it?

Hi I recently reinstalled rF also the 1.255 F patch and I'm having a problem with it. The stock cars for example (without any additional stuff installed) don't have engine sounds. All other track, collision, grass etc. sound are present except the engine. Also the MMG, and a few other have that too. However the DTM, CTDP, Megane and other mods run without any problem. What can cause it?

Thanks in advance

Has anyone tried the F1 2007 MMG mod? Just wondering if it's really as good as they say on rF Central.

Its pretty ok. Not great as biggest fans in there are saying but ok/good mod to play.

As far as I know, it has a lot of leeched stuff. The track pack that is now withdrawn had a GTR2 Barcelona. MMG flatout denied this was the case, until irrefutable proof was brought to bear. While the models might look good, the sounds are now ISI bmw, because their own sucked and was bugged. The physics are hacked ISI bmw, with a renamed file structure, and they are also bugged. So it would be better to use ISI bmw as that actually works, or if you want a full season CTDP 05, which while dated, is superior in all areas.

It's only after we've lost everything, that we are free to do anything.

And with 2006 soon to be released by the looks of it, it will be worth the wait.

Auts.. I heard about something like that but LOL! Adding some famous 'hospital visit' and few other things and we have a nice farce.. :P

Anyway yeah. Handling is bit buggy. Overall it handless ok but car flips even from kerbs on outside of corner without any logic..

I am waiting for v2.0 before I download it, I was a bit disappointed with handling in the demo but the v2.0 will be the same :(. I don't think CTDP will do 2007 though, and Ralph Hummerich simply disappeared, it seems!

Ralph has commercial projects to be working on.

Yeap, you are right about CTDP. They skip 2007 (naturally) because they are still working on 06 and 08 season have already started. 1994 is WIP (on background) and 08 project will start some time after 06 mod is ready. :)

Cheers Morbid... I tried it last night and did think it felt a bit weird to drive. I'd assume the ISI BMW is pretty much spot on (or at least you'd hope). I'll give CTDP a try though!

Apart from another reinstall, preferably with the 1255 FullInstall
[www.rfactor.net]
you could try replace the files in question with the ones from the file repository at
[rfactor.net]
.
that's all i can think of for now.

Thank you I'll try these. Reinstalling didn't help, I've tried it several times. I'll let you know if any of these helped.

I have a question, are there any tools available to edit rFactor's backgrounds? I'd like to do some tweaks on the original (and horrible) orange/white/black combo

New to rfactor...

How do I load the car skins?
Where do the files go etc?

I tried the f2008, force india and renault R27,
cant find them?

Help please.

Car skins it depends. You'd have to go to the mod folder Gamedata>Vehicles> and in there find the DDS file that corresponds to the car and replace it (after making a back up) with the new file with the skin you want on it.
