i dont know if it is different online, but in r factor when you touch wheels with another car, nothing happens. in gp4 you would get spat up in the ait at least.

Hmm... can't say I've driven much with the open-wheelers... though now you come to mention it, it sounds a little familiar... the tin-tops are perfect though, certainly online.

Been talking to the developers and they said to me that nascars random tyre failures, and the garage areas have "not been discounted yet" :) That would be 2 areas where this beats NR2003

If anything there NSR car, there certainly not NR2003 cars. The cockpit is NSR, and it looks fantastic. If the car models are NSR they have redone alot.

That NASCAR mod looks great, can't wait for some good mods (and tracks!), the rFactor community is in a state at the mo, it's appalling, just look at rsc (tho tbh that place is a bit of a mess as well), it needs some decent mods like this, and I love NASCAR in case you can't tell... :P

The modding community is totally fragmented at the moment. Nobody really knows what's happening.

In hindsight, we all knew how strong modding would have been for rF, and perhaps people should have pooled together and established some ground rules and basic principles rather than piling head-first into creating shapes and textures in the hap-hazard way most are appearing.

rF needs to last a year or so before things settle down... it took GPL a full 6 years before it had its first mod, and it's got a great platform now with GEM+ that all mods can work through - just a shame the engine never really accomodates modding, and that it's nearly a decade old.

i think its more to do with the Noonan tools meaning the average joe can get nearly any track/car into rFactor but it takes quite a bit of work to make it look good, and they aint taking the time to do so.

Trois-Rivieres for rFactor from the US Pits. Most likely a NR2003 conversion, be interesting to see if the quality is better than the ISI conversions.

A couple of tracks I've downloaded wont allow me to get any gears, can't leave the pits. All others are ok. Another version of Trois and a Woodgreen I think it was.

Trois-Rivieres looks good, better than previous conversions (though thats probably because it's from NR2003) but it's got many bugs; lights at pitlane end seem to stay on red for me, the ai's broken and crawls along at points and the saftey car doesn't work as the ai run into the back of it, also rolling starts start you off in the grandstand for some odd reason. :P

Gonna delete it for now and come back to it when it's more polished.
