indeed, i actually prefer to play with the FormulaIS cars as i can pretend its a series. i find it hard to pretend to be playing f1 in non f1 cars/helmets/circuits etc. but hey thats just me probably.

great work with the tracks, its nice to have some proper ones, not as twisty as the rf ones.

it should'nt be too difficult, i believe the damage model is very similar to F1C? anyone know if theres a plugin for Z-mod so you can save the shapes as .GMT files?

I've read at racesim central that some people have used GTR circuits, is this true?

And how do you go about doing this?

Yes its true. They wont be released because its illegal.

Looking at the pics of Suzuka and Melborune, these conversions are pretty shocking...

Tried Suzuka, and whilst chet wont say it, i will, its crap! Its just shockingly bad in every way. Grip levels feel off, the graphics are crap, the pace car doesnt work, pit lane lights dont work, the author hasnt even put in work to make the menus look respectable, hes just used F1C ripped stuff.

If anything kills rFacotr, its the massive influx of shockingly bad conversions we're about to get.

Like you say Dave, what rFactor needs is people like Redline making tracks from a clean sheet.

Im not using it...But this is exactly what people voiced concerns over. There is no standard, people are editing there tracks all over the place with different grip levels. I've seen at least 3 different Suzuka grip settings. How much is that going to screw up online? I've seen a whole bunch of modified grip settings for the default tracks and more and more people are complaining of mismatches online. Same problems as the F1C community. They dont go for quality over quantity and nobody works together to create a base system to keep things in check.

They are shockingly bad and while I welcomed a quick go at Imola just to see how the F1 cars fared on a real F1 track now its just getting rediculous. Theres an official track list at RSC though that sorts the proper tracks from the conversions and if this develops into a full track database like GPL has it shouldnt be a problem, we can easily stay away from these abysmal tracks and not miss any good ones.
