Saving a race?

New user to GP2 and loving it. Using the x86 mod.
Had a question, is there a utility so I can save at any time, whether during a session or during a race? Kinda frustrating to do a full race weekend, spend all the practise and qualifying sessions getting it right then to only have the sim crash going through a menu in the garage etc.
Any help greatly appreciated.
