Warning: Bad English ahead

If i wanna drive old cars on new Tracks (or New cars on old Tracks) i play Grand Prix 4 thank you very much

My Opinion: I am really really suprised, and i hope the don't @#$%& it up. Wait they already did (no Mclaren MP4/4 no Ayrton Senna?);) and we have to pay EXTRA MONEY to get more Classic drivers and Tracks *I Hate this DLC Stuff* :-(

Do you look forward to this Game? And what is your opinion on this new feature?

The Real Story of the Race was that the Renault's fell apart and the Ferrari's didn't.
Rosberg headed for the sliproad and retired, probably because of Nicotin starvation they have still not given him a helmet with a little hole in it.

Yes, I do look forward for this game, but I'm not sure if I'm gonna buy it.

Classic edition for PC might be interesting if it would exist, but buying basic game from shop and then over priced first day DLC through Steam doesn't sound too inviting (still hate Steam over everything and haven't ever bought anything from it).

Buying it for current gen consoles doesn't sound so great either..

Kimi, so, Massa Fernando Sebastian is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?

Hmmm I saw this yesterday and while it raised my attention I thought very much the same as you did Toki.

If I want to race the 1988 cars, then I'll just play GP4, where we have all of the cars, drivers and tracks.

From what I understand there will be some classic content available with the basic game, and then another version of the game called classic edition which will contain all of the classic stuff.

Also, I really really hate the way that guy in the video mispronounces Jerez.

My understanding is that the normal edition features the 80s content - the only thing you get with the Classic Edition is the 90s stuff.

In terms of the cars I know are gonna be in it...
1982, 1988, 1995, 1992, 1999... Yep - All covered by GP4! :P

I understand this is an obviously biased board considering the website name and such but - no two games are the same and playing an 88 mod on GP4 and playing with an 88 car on F1 2013, will be to completely seperate experiences.

For me GP4 and GP3 are too stiff and the F1 2010-12 (and Rfactor etc) make me feel like what I am doing matters more,
What I mean is I feel that anyone could reach the ultimate lap time in GP4 with relative ease, whereas there is a variety in performance over different humans in F1, also multiplayer - beating humans is awesome compared to beating computers.

So just because they're on GP4 means that NOBODY EVER should play them on F1 2013? lol

As I said I recognise the perfectly agreeable bias due to the subject of this website, but some of these posts are pretty close-minded lol

I'm freekin pscyhed for F1 2013, and the classic stuff has made me even more excitable :P

Well if 2013 is as poor as codemasters last three offerings then I don't think I'll be buying it, classic content or not.

I'm sorry, you may regard it as bias but for me, tacking on some 80s cars, as cool as that is, to a game as poor as F1 2012, that just doesn't do it for me.

While racing online is a great feature, when you consider some if the idiots who actually race online on those games it's actually not a very good experience at all.

The level of classic content is also going to be severely limited. In guessing you'll get 2 or 3 cars from each of those years at most. Compare that to the GP4 mods where you have every car, every driver, every track. That level of immersion is what keeps me coming back to GP4 as I've never found it as strong as with any other game.

F1 2013 will essentially be a skin update, with some 80s cars. I can have all of that, in much higher quality, for a game I actually think is far superior, all for free.

If I'm excited for one thing, it's the voice of Murray Walker (who I hope can win his battle against cancer :( )!

Is it me, or is the FW12 a very odd choice for a car representative of the 80s?

I have GP4 and GP3 and will continue to play both alongside F1 2013. That's my point lol.

I agree the FW12 does seem odd lol.

Yeah certainly an obscure choice.

Agreed. Also the Lotus 100T of 1988 is a bit of a wierd choice - why not the '86 or '87 car?

now codemasters devealed the line up of the classic series. They feature drivers that actually drove that car, and another ones that are "legends" of the team.

80s:
Circuits: Jerez and Brands Hatch
Williams FW07B (1980) with Alan Jones and... Prost
Team Lotus 98T (1986) with Mario Andretti and Emerson Fittipaldi
Ferrari F1-87/88C (1988
) with Berger and Schumacher
Team Lotus 100T (1988) with Satoru Nakajima and Hakkinen
Williams FW12 (1988) with Nigel Mansell and Damon Hill

90s:
Circuits: Imola and Estoril
Ferrari F92 A (1992) with Jean Alesi and TBA
Williams FW14B (1992
) with Mansell and Coulthard
Ferrari F310 (1996) with Schumacher and Berger
Williams FW18 (1996) with Hill and Jacques Villeneuve
Ferrari F399 (1999) with Irvine and... Jody Scheckter
Williams FW21 (1999) with Prost and TBA

I think they messed up the thing by trying to cover all the decade in one lineup. Its a nice thing have classic cars and tracks but they could have done it much better. I would make something like feature the 1985 season cars or something like that instead, at least to be a little more historically accurated... i dont see the point of having Scheckter driving a 1999 Ferrari.

If they've found the time to tack some 'classic' content on there, then maybe we can hope that they've done something about the god-awful split-screen. (At least give us a Full race weekend in split-screen with car setups if you won't give us a split-screen coop)
Although I still might get this - just to have the opportunity to drive Prost into a wall.

codemasters win the prize for the worst bug ever: apparantly laptimes are coupled to framerates. eg doubling the fps from 60 to 120 can gain you up to a second per lap depending on the circuit ;)

i have to admit i like the game a lot but i'm mainly using the single player modes so i don't care about stuff like that. epic fail nontheless if this is really true.

Anyone interested in forming some sort of GPG league so that we can race with each other?

I'm personally on PS3.

Sadly the more FPS = more speed thing is true to an extent. Good old bugmasters, never let us down on that front :(

Anyway, I'm keen to know if there's any pc players here interested in some fairer online racing :)
