LOL ;) I do know where it is! Posted for its historical value, and a look at the track safety of the day.

I'll take your word for it Mortal. ;-)

That road to the right as we look is still there now. It headed towards a hairpin which switched back and rejoined the track further up the hill. Think of the track now with such an iconic corner switched for an ordinary sweeper leading to fairly ordinary hairpin! Tilke would be impressed.

It's pictures like these that separate the track from others. Only Monza can replicate the feel in my eyes. Somehow, for me, Silverstone never did have the same historical magic, perhaps because only one corner has remained similar to the original (Chapel). That said, the only corner here which has remained unchanged has been Blanchimont, and I suppose Raidillon.

On a serious note though, check how much later in the day races used to start. I think the Belgian GP used to start at 3:30 local time every year, at least up till they abandoned the original Spa. We could do with some of that filtering back in I think, I've never really been a fan of the uniform(or near-uniform) 2PM local start time. For example, one of the things that made Monaco special was that it started later in the afternoon. Same with Monza.

Does anyone have a pic taken from the same spot recently, it would be a good comparison.
