It did get slated, true, but it went up in the media like dry bracken.

Any attention is usually good attention for stock value, but not as valuable if you are just a regular person. Cheryl Cole isn't really just a celebrity person, she is one of these new breeds of celeb brand. Cheryl Cole is like an inanimate object, a brand of her own persona. Anything she is associated with, clothing, food, tv show, outfit, style whatnot will add to her snowballing image. Anthea Turner had... her hair. And a TV image. It wasn't a brand. Cheryl Cole is too big to let something like this steamroll her image, which caused rumbles with Anthea Turner in comparison.

Instead it will just feed her into the spotlight, as there are fallbacks such as her outfits, band, husband etc that will overrun this minor negativity and overal turn it into a positive. Anthea Turner didn't have much to fall back to pick her back into the spotlight good books, so she faded away. It is so much bull$hit.

.

It makes a mockery of the whole z list celeb thing, which is only a good thing.

Look at the rise of Katie Price as a perfect example, Kerry Katona as another.

People are stupid enough to buy into this whole rubbish, buying their fragrances, books etc

Ridiculing it gets a thumbs up from me :)

Thats what makes this even more hilarious, the fact that a sausage roll could prove to be more popular than brand Cole

Its meant as a bit of fun at the end of it, albeit with a message rooted in the 21st century fashion of people becoming famous via the medium of @#$%& reality tv shows without any real discernable talent.

One of my friends does that whole join every group thing, but a least he chooses good ones. Facebook is an enormously awful piece of crap, ridiculously buggy and the apps for it have gotten out of had, but I had to join after all my friends moved to it from Bebo (who got the social networking thing right about 2-3 years ago, only to fall apart spectacularly). It is still astonishingly bad for music too, the band profile on it fantastically crap.

I hardly think Cheryl Cole is a Z-list celebrity in the same way as Katie Price or Kerry Katona. ;) Either of them would give their left arm to be recognised as a role-model for young girls in the same way that Cheryl is.

To be honest, I still prefer sausage rolls... they're both alright to look at, but sausage rolls don't talk with a Scouse accent.

It is like the obsession with Chuck Norris. Only the internet has done that. And Rick Astley.

Its a sliding scale, at the minute the public have fallen in love with brand cole after her husband cheated on her, funny how soon they forgot about her being lambasted for giving the toilet attendent a black eye in nightclub after she refused to pay her for a lollipop, and charged by Police for assault.

Another example of the chav supporting celebrity adoration was Jade Goody, a loud mouth stupid racist bully, develops cancer then is treated like mother teresa and remembered like she was princess Diana.

lol... once again, putting a singer/TV judge/charity ambassador in the same category as Jade "Am I Minging?" Goody, is an unbalanced comparison.

But let's just say that I prefer sausage rolls and leave it at that.

Just to prove the point Dave made on the last page, now there's a group on Facebook trying to get a particular egg more fans than Katie Price has. I logged in just a moment ago to see a message saying two of my friends had joined it. I'm resisting the temptation for now.
