So listened to the whole thing in just under an hour. I have to say it really as fantastic as I thought it would be. The previews left things out but gosh, the full thing just opens your eyes to everything. Especially the Exogenesis Part 3. Talking about restarting the earth from scratch and how we'll try and get it right this time really hits it home to everyone. Fantastic, it's an awe inspiring album. It's a mixture of all their previous works with OoS and BHAR largely. Only a minority contains a few melodies from Absolution.

There are simply no better words for this masterpiece.

did anyone watch the show "Muse: A Seaside Rendezvous" on BBC 3? it's also on the iplayer if you follow LS' link. basically it's a 30min background/build-up show to the gig they did in their hometown a couple of weeks ago, it shows photos/footage of them when they were young and they talk about growing up and why they're doing that gig.

I should hope so. The albums 54 minutes long. If it took you longer then you'd be bending the laws of time and space.

btw, calm the hell down on twitter! :P Buying an album the same day as someone does not require an all caps wankfest :P

Hahaha, it was due to both us waiting for it like crazy that it just deserved it. Thankfully there won't be anymore since the wait is over :)

i'm loving the exogenenis symphony, really impressed, glad the band went it alone and didnt have any outside input from a string arranger and left matt to his own devices!

I love part 2 of the symphony. It's just so so peaceful. Currently loving MK Ultra. Reminiscing about the old days of Hyper Music and Citizen Erased :D

I love the whole story/journey of the album

Starting with uprising, about whipping up revolutionary actions and rising up against goverments and banks, followed by Resistance, which has the perfect balance of george orwells 1984 & V for vendetta police state/thought police thing going on.

The whole united europe and asia ( eurasia) to counteract the USA

and the story of slowly destroying our planet, finding a new one and re populating it

awesome :)

Oh yes, that journey is really the best compared to the rest of the albums. It's like a continuation of BHAR with Knights of Cydonia being the whipping up story and continuing on into the sequel. Looking forward to some b-sides now :D

haha that clip's great, Matt really hams it up everytime the camera's on him.

and reading about Muse on Wiki, it says Matt's dad was in the band The Torpedos and they had a song called Telstar in the 60s, which may have been the inspiration for Cydonia, hear it yourself:

rofl @ The Vid. Shockingly, pulled off quite well - which is shocking. I would've thought Dom would stick out like a sore thumb with a stringed instrument. Matt's drumming is hilarious though ;)
