Do you know who holds the highest position in the world?
President Barack Obama? No.
Pope Benedict? No.
The Dalai Lama? No.
Vader from grandprixgames.? No.
Do you want to see WHO that person is ?

It is Babu, the crane operator at the Burj Dubai, the tallest building in the world.

Babu Sassi, a fearless young man from southern India, is the cult hero of Dubai 's army of construction workers. Known as the "Indian on the top of the world", Babu is the crane operator at the world's tallest building, the 819-meter Burj Dubai. His office, the cramped crane cab perched on top of the Burj, is also his home. It takes too long to come down to the ground each day to make it worthwhile - although, when the building is completed, its elevators will be the world's fastest.
Stories about his daily dalliance with death are discussed in revered terms by Dubai 's workers.
Some say he has been up there for more than a year, others whisper that he's paid 30,000 dirhams ($8,168) a month compared with the average wage of 800 dirhams a month.
But everyone agrees, he's worth it - because nobody else would have the courage to do the job!

Wow! I heard about this building at school , it's said when it's finished, you'll be able to see the curvature of the earth. Don't know how true that is, though.

Good luck to Babu! Whatever you do, don't look down! ;)

The views? Dubai is sand with some towers on it, I'd get bored with that after 10 minutes ;)

Nickv does the Dubai Tourism Offices plenty of favours there with a glowing review of their city. ;)

Wonder if he ever gets a hankering to drop a penny over the side...

You set me thinking (as you often do mortal), presumably it's easier to just tinkle over the side than fit up some toilet facilities up there. The urine would presumably evapourate before it hit the ground and so long as you judge the wind correctly, things are hunky dory.

On the other hand, a number 2 of the right viscosity could presumably be fatal at ground level from that height. :|

ROFLCOPTER! ;)

Everyone knows that million-to-one chances happen 9 times out of 10; indeed, it's a common requirement in fairy tales. If the human didn't have to overcome huge odds, what would be the point? Terry Pratchett - The Science Of Discworld

5 of the 10 tallest buildings in the world are in Dubhai I think!

That average wage, I bet its just indians and construction workers ( the only construction workers! ). Currently people are trying to fight for higher wages for the workers there and in other middle east countries. The average pay for an arab in Dubai I imagine is well over that! Then again, what the Indians earn over there is more than what they would in India, but still in alot of cases its stupid how little they get for what they do. The middle-east is becoming one of the (if not!!) biggest world wide financial powers. Alot of it is thanks to the Indian's who built the road systems, the infrastructure and much much more. They get paid little and are treated as much as they get paid. In some middle-eastern countries around this time there is a ban on outside work between mid-day hours, such as 12-4 because of the intense heat. Im not sure the same applies to Dubhai.

Chet in a lot of those countries the royal families and friends also own seafront properties/terrain and normal people are basically not allowed to ever see or be in the sea.

That's why they are called "cloudscrapers" in German.
