Vader: Descartes way of finding a foundament for his rationalistic philosophy. I can doubt anything, the only thing I cannot doubt is that I'm doubting and more important that it is me who is doubting. Doubting is an act of thinking, so since I can doubt/think there has at least to be a "me" to do so. So thinking proves the existence of the thinker.
