Vader: There is no real reason apart from tradition and of course the good old capitalistic principle of supply and demand. However there are 12 strings and seven strings and a good guitar manufacturer will make you custom ones with any number of strings you want.

Vader: Contrary to what some people write on the internet it's not going to happen in 2012 (it won't happen in one year anyway, since the reversal of Earth's magnetic field will take up between 5.000 and 10.000 years.)
Experts say since the current field is getting weaker the reversal could happen sometime around 3000 or 4000 AD. In other words shortly before the update of this site.
