Rome's a bit of a @#$%& hole imo, the bits that are left from Roman times are cool, but the place is dirty as hell

Go to Florence or Sienna to see what Italy is really like, Sienna is beautiful, and Florence is, well, Florence, with everything :P

true, rome is dirty as hell, but just the classical stuff does zero justice in books. never been to the rest of italy though.

if your going to view tracks, SPA is one to visit from experience - the others like silverstone or hockenheim dont really have character as theyre generic tracks as such - spa goes all through regular villages in the middle of nowhere around the german black forest.

If you want to see 'old stuff' go to greece, you need about 10 days with car to see all the major stuff.

If you'll decide to go to germany you must go to Nürburgring, you can drive around the old more than 20km long track (of course you must pay some money)

If you'll be in Italy go to Gardaland (amusement park) and not far away is Modena with Ferrari museum.

I've always wanted to do a Euro Trip via car. I suggest that/Kimi's idea.

Gareth Top 10 Euro Trip Tips:

1. Two weeks isn't enough
2. Hostels are great, however every now and then splurging on a private room with an ensuite is a must
3. Kiwis make good travel buddies
4. Book ahead, especially when you arrive in a small Spanish town without a room on what happens to be the busiest and hottest weekend of the year (I made that mistake!)
5. Don't be surprised when French sales assistants say 'hello' instead of 'Bonjour' to you. Us Aussies must really stand out :)
6. Poms, Italians, Croats and Greeks are insane drivers. Fat big old Italian mamas don't like to queue and are very short on manners. Beware!
7. Look LEFT first when crossing the road (I nearly got cleaned up by a bus in Rome!!!!)
8. Getting a room somwhere central is important- then you can just walk everywhere which makes sightseeing stupidly easy. Transport between major cities and centres is easy as, even if you don't speak the language
9. In the right places, beer is cheap. Very cheap :)
10. It's ok to drink Fosters overseas

Ok, I don't know about that last one, but that's what 3 months over there taught me last year :)

Let us know what you end up doing!

you always need to look left when crossing a road, and not only left but right to;-)

very true, however, before you'll get hit by a vehicle coming from the right you'll get hit by one coming from the left :)

crazy right-hand side drivers.......
