Ahh yeah, now I'm here in the darkness of my living room with a brighter-illuminated computer screen(The laptop, and it's plugged in!) it's possible to see both moons even on the original photo. Right enough, the inner one is quite faint, but both are easily visible particularly looking from an angle. Brilliant pic!
I know the feeling of waiting for a good photo opportunity depending on the weather too - I'm currently waiting on a spectacular fiery sunset which I'll need in order to pull off a long-exposure shot I've been planning, but since I first came up with the idea there hasn't been one so far - and that's about 3 weeks now! :-/

wow, that's tough luck. but if there's one thing you can always rely on it's the weather trying everything to annoy you :-(

Really nice shot, well captured.
Not sure who put that display together - Senna didn't drive at McLaren till 1988 and didn't have #1 on it till 1989 after all. But that's not your fault! Like I say, great shot.

It really is like that right now. In the last week or so of November there were a couple of brilliant sunsets, but since then there's been nothing so far. The cloud formations have been somewhere in the middle between allowing a clear sky - one good option - and the lovely high clouds which reflect the sunlight back down so brilliantly, which is what I'm ideally waiting for. It's managed to consistently produce fading sunsets of horrible blue-grey light, which are useless for the purpose I'm interested in. It was the same again this afternoon.
So I'm just being patient, keeping my camera on me as often as I can and hoping I'll be out at the right time on the right day - not necessarily easy, since the sun sets at 3:30PM in Dundee at the moment and I'll have to factor the photo opportunity into the middle of what could be a busy day, depending on said day!

Fabulous pics! Really beautiful.

I'm about to get a telescope soon(My local Asda sells them) and once I've got the right kit, attach it to my DSLR so it effectively becomes the lens, to try and get some night sky shots. I'm hoping to do that this winter. If I manage to get anything anywhere near this good I'll be extremely happy!

Thanks a lot :-)
Attaching a DSLR to a telescope makes for a great setup. I don't know in what detail you've already looked into this but you should make sure that the part of the telescope where the eyepiece goes has a diameter of 2 inches, else you might run into trouble fitting a DSLR to it. Also be aware that for dim objects (more or less everything that is farther away than Saturn) you will need quite long exposure times (the 3 pics in my last post were 1000 seconds each, distributed over 100 frames) requiring a motorized mount.

I just wanted to show off my craftsmen abilities. Here's a new desk that I built over the holidays, all from reclaimed timber.

I find Instagram is a great way of sharing nice photos and keeping in touch all at once. (I'm about to start a separate thread on it, since it would be kinda OT here.)

It seems to be a bit difficult sharing Instagram photos on here though.

I had a good look at the sun today. Some nice thermonuclear explosion stuff going on ;)

Wow! :-O

How did you take those shots? Possibly a silly question - through whatever you're looking through, can you see the surface of the sun moving?
That's not a silly question for sure. There are some types of flares that develop on a timescale of minutes but you have to be really lucky to observe one of these. The surface itself is relatively static, I guess you would probably see some changes on timescales of hours and days.

To observe these effects a specialised telecope with dedicated filters is needed. The idea is that you detect only one specific wavelength of light that is emitted by these processes

A bunch of cool cars. The DBR9 (#007 LeMans 2006) is one of the most beautiful GT cars ever imo.

Nice shots, keep it up. :-)
