yeah got mine on saturday. it's just a shame they didn't do the same as they did for Hamilton's championship car, with the tall box, special inlay card that listed the wins, and the outer cardboard sleeve to make it a special championship edition (see page 133 for the Hamilton Championship car).

RIP Jules, never to be forgotten. #KeepFightingMichael

Do these things still sell out as soon as they are released? - If not i might be tempted to buy that one... I used to be a massive collector of 1/43s, I haven't bought one in 6/7 years now - last one i bought was Damon's Brabham when minichamps released it. I see they have started re-releasing some of the older moulds/casts, i presume with improvements. Here are a couple of my favorites from down the years:

I started collecting when Minichamps cars were half the price they are now and onyx were £12 :p I just felt what are these cars doing? I'm buying them and they are nice to look at for a while but then they sit on the shelf. I've always enjoyed building though and here are a few of the 1/12 scale Tamiya's I've built over the years. The lotus came off ebay as a wreck, i took it apart, stripped it and rebuilt it with some studio 27 decals.

I thought about building a few more a couple of years ago, but i then took a totally different direction...! I know these probably won't appeal that much here, anyway, they are still models! I decided i wanted to build something in metal as the plastic kits basically just go together without trouble when you have done enough - I couldn't really find much racing stuff which looked decent so i built a brass loco kit, you should see the detail people get on these, it is truely amazing, but mine was a very basic starter one. It still pretty much comes flat pack, no pre-bent angles or bits (bar a few white metal fixings like the funnel, door handle and dome) and you bend it, solder, align it yourself - I'm hooked now. its really is a challange and if you dont know too much about the subject like me it takes a bit of research and time to complete - even this took me nearly 2 years (lots of breaks and between study, work, life etc) and I'm onto my second now (current state below). Not overly happy with the final painting although the quality of the picture brings out all imperfections the eye can't see! - I need to work on the "weathering" though and the decals were impossible to apply!

Hey all! As I may or may not have posted before, my partner and I are expecting a baby just after Christmas, so some sacrifices are having to be made in regards to my die cast collection!

I'll be listing some of them on eBay over the next few weeks, and I'll post a link to them in here after, in case anyone is interested. I'm only starting with some old Hot Wheels models and a couple of random Minichamps ones, but I'll probably have to consider selling my 1:18 Minichamps Raikkonen collection. :(

Anyway, here's the link to the first: [cgi.ebay.co.uk]

I can only post to the UK I'm afraid!

See you soon. :)

So I finally decided to get round to building some Tamiya kits, first up Jordan 191, step 1 engine block...

[web22.twitpic.com]

Well it's a start ;)

I might literally get round to painting it "sometime" in the future before I add the suspension etc

Sorry about poor image quality, but I took the pic in poor light with my iPhone.. couldn't be bothered getting out a DSLR for it.

My dad recently gave me his old Ferrari F40 scale 1/18. It was comlpetely covered with dust, now I'm cleaning it and I'll post some pics later.
