my first Toro Rosso, the Vettel 1st Win Monza '08 model arrived today, notice his hands in a double-fist celebration pose. the Hamilton Brazil '08 model also has hands like that.

when the real '09 cars were first revealed to the public, my mate and i said we'd never buy any cos they looked rubbish. but i gave in and bought this, Kubica's '09 car in BMW dealer tall-box. although the car is very plain in terms of aero bits under the new regs, i think it looks great as a model.

hologram on the back:

this is the spec as used in pre-season Barcelona testing in March and the first part of the season:

during the season i don't think they used "BMW Power" on the engine cover, they had other things like "BMW Efficient Dynamics" etc.

nice model

are my eyes playing tricks on me, or is the steering wheel not parallel to the front of the cockpit?

you are correct, hadn't noticed that myself! tried to line it up with some flat tweezers but it's stuck rigidly, so would probably snap off if i forced it too hard. nevermind!

also, there are so many Brawn variants being released, but i have just ordered the Australian GP version of Button's car, which will have a standing figure in the cockpit (i hope it's not the same figure as the Trulli 1st Toyota Podium, or Kimi 1st Win models), and his Brazil GP model, both in 1:43.

expensive hobby this model collecting lark!

Hi,

Car Liveries Designer Wanted.

The job is to:
- find a complete livery from the numerous GP4 carsets and convert it into a image file,
- contact the designer of that car livery and ask for his approval to use his stuff,
- and, with me, paint Formula 1 paper models such as:

These models are to be free to download.
The names of everyone who helps will be mentioned on the model.

Have a look at this thread -in French- for more information...

Please send me a MP if you are interested.
Right now, on my wish list, there is Jordan 191 (almost done), Ferrari F1-89 (and similar shapes), Arrows A10, Benetton b194 and similar...

my Button Aus GP model is on it's way, should have it in a couple of days.

and shamefully on Minichamps' part, they've recycled the same driver figure once again: Click

it's the same figure as first used for Raikkonen's 1st Win, and then again for Trulli's 1st Toyota Podium.

there are a few Brawn models due out:

1:43:
generic '09 racecar (Aus GP spec car)
Button Aus GP (with driver figure)
Button Malaysia
Button Bahrain
Button Spain
Button Brazil Championship
Aus 2-car set
Button Pitstop Diorama

Rubens generic '09 racecar
Rubens Aus GP 2nd place

1:18
generic '09 racecar (Aus GP spec car)
Button Aus GP (driver's arms raised)
Button Brazil Championship
Rubens generic '09 racecar
Rubens Aus GP 2nd place

i've just gone for the Aus and Brazil GP Button 1:43 models to bookend this historic season.

nice paper model keroliver!

I found a BMW one I printed out a few years ago and tried to complete it but without instructions it was a bit tricky. I've asked for a McLaren 05 season plastic kit for christmas and I'm going to give it a custom livery :)

Awesome model Muks, great detail!
Just one thing - the positioning of that aerial makes it look like his number was 212 ;)

yep it sure does. the car itself looks cheap being all white with no extra aero bits like we had till the end of the '08 season.

finally got my hands on an Alonso MP4-22 Team Edition (camera flash makes the red look orange):

I haven't posted here in years, but I'm trying to sell my f1 model collection but I don't really want to put them on ebay due to their high charges, does anyone have idea of places that would be interested in buying them? I've got 38 1:43 and around 25 1:18, mixed between hot wheels and Minichamps.

I'll get a list together of them all at some point just need to get around to it.

You could always try a private sale on these forums.

If so, maybe post some photos, and whether you are willing to post them overseas or not.

post pics and details of the models here, i for one would be very interested to see what you have for sale. and ebay charges aren't that high, if it comes to it. you could sell them in lots of 5 models at a time, instead of each one individually. you could group the lots by driver or team, depending on what you have. obviously you're not going to make a profit or even make back what you paid for them (unless they're very special limited editions), but you might get reasonable amounts back.
