yeah as i thought. a pointless model. i hate showcars as they serve no purpose, unless they actually issue it as a winter test model or something like that.

I bit the bullet and paid the EXTRA £27 import duty to get my Irvine 195 1:18 cleared at customs.

I saw one go for £50 on ebay not including delivery, so yes, mine was extremely overpriced, but heck, its a nice model.

I found a Bburago Williams F1 car (1992 apparently) but I don't know how Bburago is with F1 cars. The rims look very poor but it's all I can tell from the picture, can anyone chip in on Bburago's quality?

I think it's more aimed at the toy market for younguns.

I can, almost all of mine are Bburagos. I know about the Williams car, I have it if it is the one I'm thinking about, and although it's not italian (chinese, meh) you can try and tweak it to look more like a proper car. They always mess liveries up, for example I have a Bburago Ferrari 641 that should be Prost's and have number 1, but it has number 27 and belongs to Alesi. They use the same bodywork for that williams you're seeing and a model of Hill's 1994 Williams, with doesn't even display the NT decals correctly (says "Williams" instead of "Racing" or a barcode)

On the other hand, if you happen to find their 96-98 F1 Ferraris, those are great models with nice quality. I have MSC's F310 and F310B, as well as some street models (a Lambo Diablo, a BMW M3 E36, a Porsche 911 1997 and a Ferrari F40). You just have to be careful and choose the good quality models.

Yes, I had the early burago models, the same ferrari and Williams that carlitox has. Let's just say they disappeared from my collection a long time ago. They were aimed at being toys for kids, but the new 2011 cars seem to have improved greatly.

The Bburago Williams, IIRC, is actually the FW14 - they refinished it from 1991 right through to 1995! I once picked up a Senna-numbered one and, not realising what it was (I was 11), ended up trashing it. I then bought a model magazine quite a few years later and discovered that it was the rarest of them >_<

As a kid I used to have a few Bburago car models, the EB110 in blue and one in silver, a 57 Corvette, a Ferrari F-50, and also a Maisto car and a Maisto F399. Thanks to my cousins/uncles with their stupid children - who they'd allow to play with my toys - all of those were destroyed. I got sooo pissed off when I got back home.

I had a few bburagos, namely the yellow camel lotus, a rainbow Benetton, mansell Williams and the 94 Williams. They were toys for sure. My memory reminds me of sliding them very quickly across the kitchen floor with lego men drivers, perfect size!

Yeah, I got my first Bburago when I was very little. Many died because of my impression of them as simple toys. Since they are now very rare here, the ones that survived are my treasure.

Among the deceased were a Lambo Countach and a Porsche 911 1993, both 1/18 and nicely detailed. I want to kill myself every day I think about them. Excuse me, I'm going to the kitchen for a knife. ;-)

Surely the bburago f1 models aren't worth anything?

I hope not, as over Christmas I bagged a few up with other 'old junk' for the charity bag!

The only ones that are worth keeping are the 96-98 Ferraris, the others are inaccurate. Apart from that you have the street models which are very nice too.

I got a 1/43 scale version of the EJ10 a couple of weeks ago.

I ordered this one last night, which I can't wait to get a hold of, tower wing version of the Ferrari

And another favourite I got a little while ago. I think it's a great generic and pleasant shape, with great metallic blue paint with Alesi's chrome helmet:

I'd be interested in some, but I think shipping them to Germany would be a bit too expensive.

@fongu: the Prost looks awesome:-O

Depends, I got a quote from a guy who'd ship up to 5 1:18 models for 15 euros.
