Great couple of purchases Muks

That JB model is particularly nice, love the overlay. Wish that Minichamps would base all their victory cars on this sort of style

I personally can't wait for Vettel's RB8 1/18 scale now :)

@ Sapo,

there are 2 versions of the Button 2011 Canadian GP Winner:

and

i guess yours is the second one with the taller box, whereas the top one is the "standard" version. they seem to be calling the taller boxed models "promo". the different versions might be available in different countries, i don't know why else there would be 2 versions of specific race win models.

As it seems I have the first one, but not sure because the second picture is not showing up. And remind, I only can compere the box size of the model to my other, more than ten years older models. I don't know if the box is bigger than the other current models, it's only bigger than the old models it seems. And that seems logical, as the cars are slightly longer nowadays.

fixed the picture in my last post.

yeah the second box one is taller and wider, but all the other model boxes are now just wider for the longer cars.

I noticed they now sell the victory posture 1:18 figures that I got prototyped and posted on various diecast threads, but never got much interest.

Low and behold, now almost the exact same figure selling at £49.99 a pop and would have cost me £0.75 plain and £1.50 painted (no decals).

Gutted opportunity!

I can't believe you didn't follow up with that, I remember pushing you to go through with it countless times!

Problem is that they actually don't look that great

Check out the Vettel, his helmet looks pants, the visor is well out of proportion

If that area was improved then I wouldn't mind picking one up for my display

yeah please post some pics of your display! i am looking for a display case or cabinet for my 1:43 colllection. anyone got any ideas? ideally it will be glass or perspex so it lets light in from all angles.

here are the pics of my recent purchases, photographed with and without flash so you can see the real colour then the fake colour from the flash effect:

and a comparison of the old and new sized boxes:

Lovely stuff Muks, you pleased with your purchases?

On the topic of a display case, the Ikea Bertby and Detolf are both popular with collectors

yeah i'm happy with these models, not bought any in a long time so it's nice to have some new ones. the 2011 Spa model's rear wing is slightly bent forward, so the top edge of the endplate is tipped down at the front, raised at the back if you get what i mean, like someone is standing behind it and pushing it forward. i can move it down at the back by pressing but it moves back to this position. there are 2 small vertical pegs that come down from the bottom of the wing, which i could glue down to the diffuser area to keep it in the correct position.

looked at those cases. the Bertby seems to be discontinued now, but i like the look of the Detolf.

i was interested in this:

but the inside dimensions aren't quite big enough for the Minichamps 1:43 F1 cars, the compartments are not deep enough by about 1cm. they do have a custom build option, where you state the dimensions you want for your compartments, and they make them for you.

finally bought a 1:18 Minichamps '97 F310B, one of my most favourite cars ever. the box is a bit tatty and the model was covered in dust, looks like it was displayed out of the box. but i've cleaned it and it's all intact.

camera flash makes it look orange.

am gonna convert it to Marlboro and then it'll look sweet. I want to get a Villeneuve FW19 '97 car too. Seen the '97 Jordan 1:18 Minichamps at a reasonable price, it looks nice.

bought 4 issues of the Batman Automobilia set, not getting anymore as they're £9.99 each and the set goes up to 80 issues :-O:-o

I find it ironic that one of the most beautiful Ferrari F1 cars in history(in my opinion anyway) has such a clumsy name. I love the 1997 Ferrari. Great to see scale model photos of it posted here.

Just got 2 of these:

Not going to make livery shown on box. It's my first project since 4(?) years and I'm not planning to use any ready decals, just simply trying to paint all logos and stuff. I will post pictures during project here if it's ok and people are interested to see what it will become.

Kimi, so, Massa Fernando Sebastian is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?
