Listen qwerty, this is my favourite Peter O'Toole anecdote.

Peter O'Tookle

Richard Harris

Peter O'Toole and his fellow Irish countryman Richard Harris where both playing at a theatre in Dublin. During the break they left the house, since across the street was a pub. O'Toole and Harris - both know ever to leave a glass unemptied - did heavily drink one pint after the other, one whiskey before the next - an activity upon which they forgot time and duty. When the second act was about to begin, the director was getting impatient, since both of his stars where still not back. He send a boy to pick them up. Finally both Harris and O'Toole arrived at the theatre, obviously dead drunk. Harris was to enter the stage first. He did that a little bit too fast for his shaky legs. He stumbled and fell over, slided right across the stage until he stopped with his head almost in the first row, face to face with an elderly lady. Smelling his alcoholic breath, she said loud and distinctly, 'Good God, Harris is drunk'. Harris, however answered, 'Lady, if you think that I am drunk, just wait for O'Toole'.

"I've never had a problem with drugs. I've had problems with the police."

"My dad was the town drunk. Most of the time that's not so bad; but New York City?"
Henry Youngman.

"Work is the curse of the drinking classes."
Oscar Wilde

"The problem with the world is that everyone is a few drinks behind."
Humprey Bogart.

"When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading."
Henny Youngman.

"Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza."
Dave Barry.

"I know I'm drinking myself to a slow death, but then I'm in no hurry."
Robert Benchley.

"I feel sorry for people who don't drink. They wake up in the morning and that's the best they're going to feel all day."
Dean Martin.
