Hello everyone, am hoping a few of you might be able to point me in the right direction.

I want to purchase a NAS bay (Network Attached Storage) to my home network to back up files on my PC and Laptop. Is there a feature in Windows 8 where I can back up selected files/folders when I log off? So it just checks for new or updated files and syncs them. Or is this something that only purchased software will do?

If you're happy with a bit of batch file work, xcopy will do this no problem.

Go to run > type gpedit.msc and press enter > User configuration > Windows Settings > Scripts (Logon/Logoff) > double click Logoff > Add > paste your batch file in there, select it > Open > OK > OK

Simple example of xcopy here:
[billing.holodyn.com]

It sounds complicated, but it's really quite simple.
