Optimistic request for internet help!

Hi y'all, just started what is basically an office job for the next 3 months, and have a computer that has ultra-restricted internet access...namely I can't get to the sydney morning herald's site, gmail or perhaps most importantly my fantasy EPL team.

So basically, is there a way I can set up my home computer to act as a server and hook into it from work via pr0xy? I've censored that word just in case the network here doesn't like it - googling is frightfully difficult when that's a red flagged word. I'm at a point where I'd happily pay for some sort of service too (so long as it's legit!!) since it'll be a lonnng 12 weeks without normal internet.

Thoughts, advice? Very appreciative.

I don't know how it works in your country, but if you want to pay you could try with prepaid mobile internet services.

Hey mate, yeah I considered that, the problem I ran into is that I can't seem to install software that's required for it (due to admin restrictions), but I can seem to put proxies in through IE. (shudder).

I've got an app on my iphone which allows me to browse my home PC on my iphone as long as my home PC is powered on. You need a 3g/wifi connection for it to work, so if your work had a strongish signal you'd be okay. It's called LogMeIn.

Browsin your pc on a small phone is not ideal but it's easy enough
