In this thread I will post which drivers are currently available for contract negotiations as well as your teams current budget and all of the drivers that will become available over the course of the season. Also the prices of engine and brake manufacturers can also be found here.

2004 Team Testing Budgets

Your teams testing budget is the remainder of your previous years budget after having bought all of you drivers, engine and brakes. This can be spent on mid season test sessions that occur during the season. Just as in pre-season testing you can choose to focus on improve pace of reliability.

2. McLaren - £2.25m (Mercedes Engine + Brembo Brakes + Vettel + Rosberg + Briscoe + Montoya = £18m + £6m +£10m + £8m + £3m + £18m = £63m spent)

Engine Manufacturers

Each team must sign an engine supplier. Ferrari, Renault and Toyota will all have to stick with their engines however Independants are free to choose their engines. Not all engine manufacturers will be available straight away, for example Mercedes and BMW will be first choice to McLaren and Williams. Each engine has a reliabilty and a bhp setting.

Ferrari - £20m (Exclusive to Ferrari)
Mercedes - £18m (McLaren first choice)
BMW - £17m (Williams first choice)
Renault - £18m (Max 2 teams. Renault first choice)
Honda - £17m (Max 2 teams. BAR first choice)

Petronas - £16m (Max 2 teams. Sauber First choice)
Cosworth - £14m
Toyota - £16m (Max 2 teams. Toyota First choice)
Ford - £15m

Brake Manufacturers

Each team must have a brake supplier. These will have an effect on your teams performance as you recieve random upgrades through the season

Hitco - £4m
Brembo - £6m
AP Racing - £5m
Alcon - £4m

Drivers Market

Drivers will be ready at random times throughout the season for contract negotiations whereas everything else (engines, brakes, etc) can be signed at anytime. Drivers have a set minimum contract offer so anything offered below this figure will be rejected. The driver will accept the highest offer unless his current team are within £500k of the highest bid for the driver in which case the driver will stay with his current team.

Drivers can bring experience to your team, while youngsters are up and coming stars however, race them too early and they may struggle. Same goes for drivers who are pushing on retirement so keep this in mind. Each team must have at least three drivers (2 race drivers, 1 test/third driver) When making an offer, send a pm to me (Twigster151) with your offer and for which driver. Keep in mind other teams may be bidding for this driver, however they may not be. A driver will have a set time to receive offers (usually a week, 2 races etc) After that they will decide who they will race for next season. If they have no offer then they will remain available for contract talks.

Extra Cash

Don't worry if you have extra cash. This can be used for next seasons mid-season testing. Testing will cost a team £250k to take part in and could help improve your car by finding that all important break through. Pre Season testing will not cost your team however. Or you could sign a new driver.

yep thats fine, you only need to pm me with driver offers :)

Also as Toyota have no choice but to take a their own engine that means that Toyota engines are no longer available.

Heidfeld unhurt after Bahrain shunt
Saubers' Nick Heidfeld managed to escape from his spectacular exit at the Bahrain Grand Prix after spinning off the track at high speed and colliding first with McLaren rookie Bjorn Wirdheim and then with defending world champion Kimi Raikkonen as his car slide back onto the racing line. Luckily for the Sauber team due to the strength of modern day Forumal cars Heidfeld will still be able to race at the Spanish GP. Also Allan McNish who rolled his Jaguar in the opening laps of the race is also unhurt.

Petronas engine upgrades to be in place in Catalunya
It has been confirmed by Petronas who currently supply engines to three teams in Formula 1 that a slightly modified version of their current engine will be used by each team at the Spanish GP. Petronas told reporters that the upgrade slightly increases the BHP of the engine as well as providing a slight improvement to its reliability.

First mid season test session is fast approaching
As the title suggests the first mid season test session will be taking place after Spanish GP at the Jerez circuit. So far only one team have confirmed that they will be attending and it is unknown whether or not any others will be present also.

9. Jaguar/Redbull £31m+£5m from Redbull deal. £21m (Honda Engine + AP Racing Brakes + Kubica = £17m + £5m + £7m = £29m spent)

What does this 21m represent?

Quote

8. Toyota - £20m (Toyota Engine + Hitco Brakes = £16m + £4m = £20m spent)

Does this mean that Toyota have no money to buy drivers?

Yes the figure before the brackets is the amount of money each team still has left to spend, whilst the other is how much they've currently spent.
