It is possible to put the Portuguese car in the Beta Mod?

-----------------------------------------------------

Certainly - i'm on it now. V V V busy this week, but will release an updated mod later this week. here's a link for the car anyways: [www.megaupload.com] it'll replace prost car 2 in the mod if i remember rightly

Round 2 coming up this weekend - please PM me your performance preferences for Interlagos - by Saturday, 10AM GMT.

Round 2 of the GPG NC takes us to Brazil, and the fabulous, fast Interlagos circuit. After a chaotic, and at times, controversial first round of the GPGNC, it's hoped that a more controlled race will happen in Round 2. Will Belgium take the momentum from their surprise victory onwards, or will Italy want revenge for their lost win?

Discussions start here folks!

Schedule
Qualifying to be run @ 1PM (GMT) 18/12/2010
Race @ 2PM (GMT) 19/12/2010

This is being run as a 'normal' race weekend, so, if you know you're not gonna be around Saturday /evening, let me (harjinator) have your race perf in advance.

This will be a 2 stop race.

I will also release an updated Beta mod on friday, or saturday, containing updated names (teams - as suggested earlier), fixing helmet and texture size bugs, and adding in team portugal.

Please note - i shall be away from the 22nd December, to the 18th January. I would like a volunteer or two to run a couple of rounds in my absence - PM Harjinator

Good luck folks... let round 2 ego-bigging begin!

Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/13/2010 10:03PM by GPG_Nations_Cup.
I've only had 6 perfs so far for round 2...

C'mon guys!

Good afternoon, and welcome to qualifying for round 2 of the GPG Nations Cup. The session is already underway. Will Malaysia be able to go for the double? Or will the last Race winner go for Pole?

First car on track is Hunsley from South Africa. He’s desperately hoping for a stronger performance here.

He’s followed by Heart of Canada

And Home runner Antunis of Brazil

13 cars on track, as hunsley sets the early benchmark – a 1:11.722

Heart is 2 tenths down

Razak of Malaysia also can’t beat the South African. He slots in between the two runners so far

The Home fans go wild as Antunis crosses the line, quarter of a second up, to take first place

The cheering continues as Vukcevic fails to beat Antunis, slotting in 2nd

Xannthis also can’t beat the time, slotting in 6th

And is immediately demoted by Dan paddock, of New Zealand’s first effort

The battle of the oceana teams hots up as McGregor slots in 3rd

Followed closely by Jansher of Austria. 8th place only for the Austrian Driver

Here is the top 6 of the runners so far, as De Boer crosses the line

Copeman’s first lap puts him Second

As the first runners pit in

John Maverick of Switzerland takes to the track

Followed by Vanthoor of Belgium – can the first round victor put in a good time?

Ward is also out for Ireland

Along with Zakes for Madagascar

Austria are straight out for their 2nd run, after being disappointed with the 11th place in the first run

The portugese car makes it’s debut

Maverick looks to be getting some traffic on his hotlap

He’s up in sector 1

And in sector 2

And takes Pole! By 35 thousandths of a second. The brazillian fans go a little quieter…

Vanthoor can only manage 16th for Belgium, after being held up by Oakley in the Great Britain car

Ward slots in 13th

Jantsher doesn’t improve on his second run

Tafuro’s first effort snatches 11th place for Italy

A big surprise, as Portugal takes provisional pole!

In contrast to turkey, as Urazel can only manage 16th

Stein puts in a time, only 14th place for the German driver

After everyone has made one run, the wooden spoon currently belongs to Oakley, down in 22nd, 3 seconds off the pace

Mcgregor sets off on his 2nd run

After dropping to 3rd, Antunis also sets off to try and find the tenth he needs to get pole back

Mcgregor is down in sector 1

Antunis is only 2 thousandths of a second of Carreriro

Mcgregor loses a heap of time in sector 2, his 2nd lap doesn’t improve his position

Antunis gives the Brazilian fans some cheer by climbing to 2nd spot. He is only 56 thousandths off the Portugese driver’s pole position time

It’s very close in the top 3

Another mediocre lap for Xanthis, down in 12th place

Paddock doesn’t improve on his latest effort

Times of 7th to 12th

13th-18th

And the tail enders

Hunsley sets a very strong sector 1 time

As Portugal makes another run – can he improve his current best time?

Italy having a difficult lap

Most drivers making their 2nd run

Copeman doesn’t improve

Hovath of hungary lifts himself from last place. Only by one position though

Vukcevic of Montenegro tries to make the most of a slipstream, but it doesn’t help him improve his time

De Boer is on another lap – can he join the battle for pole?

Unfortunately not!

As Antunis’ latest lap gains him nothing

Yoshimoto is having a quiet qualifying down in the midfield, after his heroics in Australia

Zakes sets off on another run for Madagascar

As does Portugal

No improvement in sector one for Carreriro this time…

Zakes doesn’t improve

And Carreriro can’t extend his lead

A very poor lap from Maverick – has the momentum gone from his pole challenge?

It seems the track is going through a slow phase, as Ward sets a slow time for Ireland

Hovath climbs another position to 20th

Stein leaves the pits for his last effort

As does Antunis

Stein nets 13th place

No pole position heroics for Malaysia this time – 9th place only for Razak

Mcgregor improves to 4th for Australia

The crowd goes Wild as Antunis snatches provisional pole by 26 thousandths of a second! Can Carreriro respond?

Paddock jumps to 12th spot in the New Zealand car

Vanthoor completes a poor qualifying for Belgium. No improvement leaves him firmly towards the tail end of the field

Carreriro crosses the line, but it’s not enough! Brazil still on pole… can anybody depose Antunis?

Tafuro climbs to 12th for Italy

Ireland are down in 16th place. Only 4 cars have a run remaining – it’s looking good for Felipe Antunis!

Hovath sets off, desperate to elevate himself from the last row

Urazel, however, desperately wants to keep Hovath behind him!

Oakley is also desperate to impove

And Copeman leaves the pits last, looking to secure his current top 10 position

Hovath improves his time, but it’s not enough, he remains 21st

Urazel also improves his time, but remains 20th

Oakley has the curious honour of being the only driver not in the 1:11 range, so close is the field

And copeman is the last man to cross the line, securing 6th spot. Here are the top 6… Well done to Antunis, setting a splendid pole in front of his home crowd!

And the midfield, all hoping to spring a surprise in the race

And the last two rows. Very surprisingly poor performance from Belgium, but they managed to pull it back last time – can they do it again?!

That’s all from Brazil… stay tuned for Race 2 of the GPGNC, coming soon!
oops, forgot the final table!

Racing tomorrow guys.

2nd place after so many time in pole... Well congrats to Brazil! :) Nevertheless a huge improvement since last race. Let's see tomorrow...

-----------------------------------------------------

again a disappointing qualifying session, but i beleive we will improve our position in the race since interlagos circuit has lot of overtaking opportunities.
3rd, that's definitely what I hoped for after spending so many perf-points this time. Hopefully there will be an improvement possible, anyway.

GPGSL : Team Owner of 'Maverick Track Performance' (MTP)
Brazil Saturday quotes Felipe Antunis (1st):

"I am so happy, it was a great drive and it's better to start at the front and have my own race pace than towards the middle of the pack. I knew car was competitive, but I am keeping my feet on the ground because we have won nothing yet. We did fantastic today, it will be a great night and I will sleep, but we still have to get everything tomorrow. I will race as hard as I can to win the race, I am looking forward to my home race."

-------------------------------------------
well 7th is a mssive improvement on last race! lets hope to stick it out like last time and collect more points, maybe even a podium... ;)
