GP4 1989/1990 mods

Hello, Everybody.

For quite some time I've been thinking about creating a mod for the community. I started developing 2009 and 2010 mods - the first is complete and the second is WIP - but I noticed there are already excellent mods in development for these seasons, so I went searching for seasons that haven't been made yet. We currently have a gap between the 1988 and 1991 mods and both the 89 and 90 seasons had some very interesting cars, so I'm thinking about developing mods for both seasons and am looking for help.

Here's what I know how to do:
- CSM build
- All tweaker coordinates
- Car cams
- Menu arts
- Loading screens
- Performances
- Sounds
- Team arts

And here's what I need help with:
- Car shapes
- Mapping
- track updates
- tyres/rims
- steering wheels
- helmets

If anyone is interested in helping with the mods, please PM me! It would be great if we could move this project forward.

To be honest, most of the hard work is in the bit that you need help with. When you say you need help, do you want to do them yourself or pass it on to someone else?

Maybe there are mods that you might be able to convert with permission?

I know...I'm still learning and don't know enough yet to make a good convension or build an excellent car from scratch. I had the idea to 'recruit' because I've seen so many incredible modders releasing almost identical versions of the same cars and tought it would be a nice change of pace for them to work on some original cars that have never been made before for GP4.

My goal here is not to freeload on anybody's work, but to maybe jump-start a couple of new mods, hopefully bringing together some of these amazing artists.

if i don't mistake,Hagi made 1989 helmets and included them in the hi-res helmet update for the 88 mod(together with other 88 helmets)

for the ferrari 89,i know that someone started to shape one a lot of time ago,and recently has finished the sidepods

I've got this car somewhere but don't have any permission (from F1 Challenge)

Considering there were 20 teams in 1989 and 19 teams in 1990, would there be a way to have Ferrari, Williams, Mclaren and Benetton automatically and on the mod's configurables, an option to choose who the other 7 teams you want to use are.

Yes, its possible to do that in csm. The 1994 mod has 14 or 15 teams and you can chose between them.

I know that, but you can only choose who the 11th team are, I was wondering if it is possible to make it so you choose who teams 5,6,7,8,9,10,11 for example I could choose Lotus, Tyrrell, Larrousse, Ligier, Minardi, Onyx and Dallara one time but next time I could choose Brabham, AGS, Eurobrun, Arrows, Leyton House, Lotus and Minardi? I'm not sure how complicated I made it sound though.

you mean increasing the user's team choices,right?

it is possible, it's just a fair bit of work and will take much testing. You'll have to mess about with team orders etc as well. But it is possible

Not found the car of the year 1989-90. Then it is impossible to convert car without permission. So I'm working alone on the Ferrari F.1/89 (version 640).

I have a 1990 CSM mod stuff almost done.

If you guys need help....

About convert, you can talk with F1c guys, maybe you got some models from zmodeler to export to GP4 format. I saw a complete 89 mod in racesimulations.

Yes..it would be great if someone can convert that...at least to have a new mod...

1989/1990 mods are rare thing to find. I hope someone would be able to compile a mod.
