Another question - is it possible to use this with the original teams that came with the game, or can it only be used with any mod?

go into TSM, in "load tracks", select and load 1988.ini, you will see a progress bar of the tracks loading, when complete just start GP4 normally or via GPxPatch.

I will try the 1988 mod but I thought it would be interesting to try these tracks with a different era.

Same here. I tried Mexico the other day and it is Beautiful!
Some of these tracks I first fell in love with thanks to the video game Super Monaco GP 2 for the Sega Genesis/Master Drive (even if it was based on the 1991 season).

Hey Guys,

I'm posting this question in here rather than in Pedro's 1984 release thread. I know the question has been asked before about using this trackpack as the base for other mods, but I can't get the 1988 trackpack to work with the new 1984 mod in Championship mode....I just get a big fat crash to desktop before the track options menu appear in GP4 (free practice, qualifying etc).

I've changed the track list to 1988, and even created a new track profile but still no use. I'm wondering if anyone else has had any success with the new 1984 mod using 1988 trackpack, and if so how did you achieve success?

Chasey, I have had similar problems with some tracks not loading or crashing with the 1984 mod. I found this might work for you as it did for me.

1. Open the 1984 mod in TSM.
2. Select GPx settings on left side of mod listing.
3. Go to the Debug area and check the box next to "start GPx in debut mode Verbosity.
4. Set verbosity to HIGH.

It worked for me, hope it works for you. I found any of the 1988 trackpack tracks load and work properly after taking these steps.

It still bombs out to CSM once you quit GP4, but I guess that can't be helped.

niiiiceeeeee!!! You'll do a proper pitlane too? Because 1988 pitlane is the same of 1991/93 and i'll be glad to release proper '91 and '93 version of Hungaroring

nope, i don't plan to do a new pitlane. i would have to do ot twice (88 and 91 track layout) and it would never get as good/playable as the original one is.
