We're only going to launch a second series if we can guarantee that we have enough drivers to last a season. I'd personally keep one league as long as possible. If we get a long waiting list for drivers, we could, for instance, forbid that teambosses are also drivers. Or we can have more strict activity rules.

Your last point would be the most effective, in my opinion. There are lots of people driving in this series, that I haven't ever seen posting a comment. But especially in such a KI-based race series this is all that brings the fun and should be done permanently.
If I remember right, Mal already eliminated the idea to start a second series again, with a good reason.
But on the other hand, if the series goes on growing so fast as at the moment, there have ways to be found, to keep guys waiting for a seat at it.
technically there is no waiting list for drivers.
team owners are free to choose anyone they want.

I'm on a NO for a second series. However another idea came to mind, if there are more drivers interested then we can manage, those could run in 'test sessions' in a GPGSL painted car (or even cars/teams that are on the reserve list). Let's say then 1 session every 3 or 4 races to start with.
They will be able to build perf points in these sessions and show off to existing teams what they are capable off doing.
I could offer myself to do those test sessions coverages I guess.
That way they will still be actively involved and it takes a lot less work then a second series.
There should only be thought then about how the performances will be given, when there are just 4 extra drivers they will always finish n the top 4. My idea would be then to look at the times they are driving or something like that. when they are in a certain window they will get a certain amount of points.

If you are racing, keep on racing and get some points!

the idea is good,i'd add some special events like the Xmas we had some months ago;-)

My GPGSL Career
I know my point may sound bitchy about pulling out, but really it'd take all the fun out of the series for me, MPR/PTR would have been relegated from the first season if the rules would have applied

Atm the series is running well I can't see a reason to make any major changes

I like Maikel's idea about small tests and if he was running them I can't see there being any problems, it would be nice for the teams who are on the waiting list

I also agree with the idea for more persistent activity checks, I'm one of the lucky team bosses in terms of activity, Rod, Monil and Marko are all fairly active at the site, but there are some teams where activity has fallen slightly, with all things people move on, or fade in and out of things so it is to be expected, but we don't want a ghost driver series

Also if you want to apply to join the series a car should be painted up and presented, like Rod, Maikel, Stu and Mal have done, it shows some sort of commitment to the series and that you are serious about joining

Yes, something like this was exactly what I had in mind

but i know we won't be by the end of the season ;)

anyway, good to see all the different opinions about this proposal, it shows the interest in the series is very high.

last season i painted a car for my team, never presented it.I did well because my team's designs changes everytime, but now i think i've definitely found a good design for TGP...

My GPGSL Career
QUESTION

As you might have read i had to do a reinstall, and i was lucky to have made it due to some cd driver problems.
it succeded. but doing another one could be tough.
anyway i installed 4.0. mods so some helmets in test mod could not be updated as 5,0 didnt work for perfs and i wanna start the weekend

however test mod has crashed me on exit. good news is i could run the session and even take results before that, but i dunno if it can crash midgame.
i had no probs with RACE mod.

after choosing all lods with test mod i did not crash for first time.

it may had something to do with lo test blur in menu file or even gp4exe, not sure.
anyway, race mod hasnt caused any problems

JUST incase it crashes during any of the session or the race;

should results be taken into account depending how long the session has been (i will take results screenies during the game)
or should session or in theory race be repeated in worst case scenario?

EDIT: NO sessions have been ran yet, just tested it.

I guess it's case-dependent. When there is about 75% done then the results could stand I guess - but when just 10-20% has been run it's not really representative.

keep in mind though with changeable weather some coud pit twice some three times, but if it the 75 rule is agreed, then

34,5 laps, so lap 35 makes it legal out 46.

75 of session is 30 minutes of qualy (unless, well what if it starts to rain heavier after first 5 minutes and times dont seem to be able to improve?
ofcourse in theory it could dry out again in last minutes.

Personally, a double series wouldn't benefit anyone besides the reserve teams. And then with that you've got the added pressure on the Race Directors to get everything ready for both parties.

In terms of Byron, I had said a contract for S4 with and option for an extension for S5. And it worked with him but then the perfs were just got too low :(. I really wanted byron to stay but with it low there's no way we'd have been able to get up top.
free practice was run, no problems
coverage later ,will take me some time
