I definitely have to agree with that. I really hope that Stuarts statement is simply a bad joke, even if 1. April is still some days to go.
I thought the argument between Nick and Matt to be simple roleplay, but such a statement from a race director isn't really funny anymore. Something like that can drag the whole series in the mud if anybody understands that wrong, and for that one should be careful with such statements, in my unimportant oppinion

i think they're only joking.AFAIK there are just two car shapes in Gpgsl, other cars and shape updates aren't possible.

Races: 163 - Wins: 23 - Pole Positions: 24 - Fastest Laps: 22
Season 9: Constructors' Champions
i've a question for the governing body.

will we swap to Arai GP5-RC in S5?it's annoying for me to convert my helmet to 2005 shape;)...

We've thought about it a few times, but it would require everybody to repaint their helmets. But if there's enough support for it, it could be implemented. If you remind us of it at the end of the season (because we WILL forget about it :P) then we can set up a poll.

my helmet would be ready in time, and i've philip's helmet for maikel's shape.Anyway,if you'll do an announcement around the half of the season, people will get their helmet ready in time;)

My GPGSL Career
Not everyone can paint a helmet, and we've always followed the KISS priciple (keep it simple stupid). And if it ain't broke, don't fix it. ;-)

ok

My GPGSL Career
If there really is a majority who would like to switch to my Arai GP5-RC (or maybe even the Schuberth/Bell by DaiM0n if they are released soon enough) I might offer to convert the ones from those who can't do them themselfs. ;-)

PS. 19th in qualy SUCKS! ;)

Oh I'm deadly serious! ;) (For those who don't know that was another joke)

When you've spent enough time in this thread you'll come to realise that there is plenty of joking and banter going on in here. We like to keep this fun, we don't want it to become like F1 now do we? :)

PS "simply a bad joke", I thought it was rather good myself! ;)

Enough of the silly comments, let's get back to what this thread is all about. RACING!

The race has been run and won. Three or four cars were lapped in the closing stages of the race, all cars pitted twice. There was one high profile DNF, which left the team mate to bring home the proverbial bacon! An epic battle between Hinz and Groeneboer! One driver finished last, earning this events wooden spoon. Coverage from GPGTV.org/farked after tea, my time.

I understood Stuart, my only concern was/is, that such comments from a race director can be dangerous, as I mentioned. You have to keep in mind that people have to trust in your neutrality, so....yeah well, maybe I'm a bit prude (N)

GPGSL Round 8 South African Grand Prix Kyalami

We're back at Kyalami for the big race, there's been some tough talk amongst the teams, and even amongst teeam mates on performance issues and more. There's 47 laps to get through before the chequered flag is waved, and Velox looked to be hot contenders after FP, but things fell in a heap for the team during qualifying, as Houston struggled to find a good setup for his car. Meanwhile, all was quiet at the TSS garage, with cars on the first and second row, they didn't need to talk things up. MPR worked through the night on final tweaks on Aleksanders car, with Santilal on the front row, they look solid to do well here today. Enough talk, it's time to get on with the race, the first GPGSL GP in South Africa.

Weather Report
Still boringly beautiful, no zebras, hyenas or hephalumps in sight. Although there is plenty of svelte young female mammals in the paddock to be seen!

We now cross to the RD, who has obligingly swept the console of donut crumbs, finger poised on the GO button.

The cars have done their warm-up lap, ready to start the race.

And they're away at Kyalami, Santilal makes a great start and tries to get the drop on Greenhalgh.

It's a full on battle as Santilal tries to get past Greenhalgh.

The TSS car has the pace, and Greenhalgh holds of Santilal.

Replay
Santilal has a huge lock-up.

Oakley has passed Santilal.

Grant down one place to sixth.

No change for Aleksander, still in eighth, pursued by Van der Voort.

WDC Oakley fastest lap.

Italian star Tafuro at the back of the field.

Lap seven standings.

Warrington in danger as he locks up his tyres.

Groeneboer attacks Hinz.

Warrington has run wide and spins, rejoins in last place. Unfortunate, that was supposed to be a lucky new helmet.

Lap nine placings.

Groeneboer still hot on the the tail of Hinz.

Hinz jinks defensively.

Lockup! Could be dangerous.

Confusion reigns, and Aleksander takes advantage and dives through as Groeneboer momentarily backs off.

Van der Voort places Groeneboer in his sights.

The excitement is almost too much to bear, I need a donut or a sticky bun to calm my nerves.

Hinz having trouble as he locks his tyres again.

Groeneboer sees an advantage. Can he get by?

And he does!

Hinz is not one to give up, and fights back for the position.

But Groeneboer finally makes a good pass, and with clean air in front, sprints away.

Van der Voort next to take on Hinz.

Van der Voort seals the deal.

First round of pit stops underway. Unfortunately the Velox crew fluff the stop and take far too long.

Van Dijck in the pits.

TSS still at the pointy end of the race.

Race leader Greenhalgh in the pits.

Oakley now in front of team mate Greenhalgh.

Van het Bolscher gets a pit call.

Aleksander now up to fourth.

Van der Voort in eighteenth after a poor pit stop.

Koemmerer at the back end of the race.

On board with de Boer.

Playboy Houston passes Playgirl Grant!

Replay

Grant runs wide.

Grant regains control and maintains position.

Warrington fights his way back through the field.

Lap thirty placings.

Oakley laps Tafuro.

Lap 38 placings.

Replay.

Van der Voort runs wide onto the kitty litter.

A collision with the tyre wall means the end of the race for van der Voort.

Lap 39 placings.

Which leaves team mate Houston to bring home the points.

Oakley takes the chequered flag at Kyalami.

That's it from GPGTV.org/farked. Official results from the GPGSL up soon.
