Maybe he hasn't seen the 2008 cars (the best ever made by modders and mappers, on my opinion) and the last tracks ;)

There will be season updates and you can switch through them with just simply changing the disc. Each season update will cost around 50€ for pc and 59-69€ for consoles (prices might be and propably are different outside of Finland). Sure you will have to deside have you earned place from a top team, because any REAL career mode you wont get.

And then things what I beleave we will get:

-Incredible setup mode where you can choose beetween soft, medium and hard suspension. Low, medium and high downforce. etc..

-"realistic" Blurry unclear graphics.

-Good AI (they wont crash with you if you are having same spee as they have).

-Realistic sounds. Exactly as broken sounds as you had before time of digital TV.

-Animated pit crew and gridgirls with repeating 2-3 seconds long animations.

-Team specific AI setups and skills with some random guys in front.

-Superb texture quality (you wont see any pixelated logos from all that blur).

-"Realistic" handling (nobody is able to prove anyway how realistic it is, because none of us have actually driven F1 car. Also I have been only sitting in F1 replica).

-Realistic penalties. Drive thru every time when your tire goes over kerbs or something else really revarding and logical.

---

And yes their latest "simulations" (wich werent even meant to be simulations like they are now suddently saying) didnt exactly satisfy me and even they have promised perfect game, I wont beleave these promises before seeing this new game with my own eyes. ;)

Kimi, so, Massa Fernando Sebastian is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?

Codemaster will come out with a beautiful looking and sounding game but it will not compare to GP4's playability as they are clearly focused on sales and not the minority (hard core gamers) I hope I'm wrong and they match GP4 and we can all race together in big grids, with changing whether, physics that respond to changes and more obviously.

- Safety Car

- More kinds damage (like broken sidepods, hydraulics, KERS, suspension, lose-tyre, pit problems)

- Good steering (not like F1 '04)

- Better moments to "pick-up" your car when the rear comes out (oversteer)

- More AI mistakes (missing the apex, missing the braking point, outsteps)

- Marshals with flag on the side of the track

- Different AI setup and strategy

- More AI damage and crashes (for example at the 1st corner at the 1st lap)

- Starting grid with info about the weather, track layout, grid girls, pitcrew preparing the car for the formation-lap

- Not all cars at the same time out in Q1, Q2 and Q3. But also with a different strategy

- Career with different types of helmets (Bell, Schubert, Arai)

- Realistic penalties like drive-trough, stop-and-go and DQ

- KERS

- When there's a safety car period: all cars go into a "speed limiter"

- Helmets with HANS

- 3D crowd

- More action in the pits with more animation

- Blocking wheels (F1 '05 look-a-like)

Yes, but I think it'll just suck overall, as they will add as much blur as they car to make it look "better" (so worse if you are a normal gamer) and it'll only be driveable whit a keyboard, just like the Colin McRea games... :(

We should try to get Geoff's email adress and beg him to make Grand Prix 5

I think a safety car could be cool. It does emulate the real thing after all and if low tyre temps, cold brakes and tyre 'marble' effects were in the game then getting the re-start right might be a fun challenge.

I actually had a go at making gridgirl muppets once! Jimbob and me thought it could be a laugh but they looked like cr*p.

Its in the GP4 section because I am interested to find out what GP4 doesn't have and can-not be put into the game and the best place to find that information is in this forum.

1. Safety Car
2. Qualifying Rules Q1, Q2, Q3 with fuel needing to be decided
3. No Blur and clear textures
4. AI at GP4 level or better. Preferable with younger/ newer drivers
making mistakes under pressure
5. Comprehensive Career mode over many seasons.
6. Find Geoff and force him to work on the Physics of the game or find a
new savour :) tall order!

don't get your hopes up for that, modding will not be possible at all apparently.

We'll crack the code somehow and sometimes and modding it will be possible. Codemasters is just scaring people ;)

I really don´t expect a game with all THE STUFF OF GP4, but better than the Sony F1 2005, and 2006, great graphics but the game a little boring

maybe, maybe not. i don't think any of their race driver games have been modded yet. however, there will be more interest in modding this game, and probably more advanced efforts

well their games weren't interesting to begin with so no one bothered modding :P.
