The Template Mod is a mod that comes with a few different car shapes but no textures, no driver info, no pitcrews....etc etc
The idea is for people to make and release add-on packs for the TM.
The cars included in the mod so far are:
TMTC : touring car (the DTM 2005 Opel) (shape by Konstantin/mckey415)
Formula R : lower formula car (Formula Renault) (shape by Ulf/Alesi_fan)
LM60s : a small racer based very loosely on something from the 1950s or 60s
TMF1 : formula 1 car (Toyota TF108) (by fongu & raulongo)
More cars might be added before release.
The mod has no .csm file so can't be played without an add-on pack.
Add-on packs can be created by anyone and are all individual add-ons that should work independently of any other add-on, just needing the basic TM mod.
An add-on pack can include anything from a few textures right up to everything for a more complicated mod. I'd reccommend at least 22 car textures, pit crews, performance data and what ever eye candy you want - loading screens, menu art, etc.
If an add-on pack is missing something then the default files will be used. For instance the base mod has blank white helmets, so some things can be left out of add-on packs, and it won't loook too bad in game.
One reason behind the mod is to make an easier way for mods to be made of series that might not draw enough interest to warrant a full blown mod. For instance someone might want to use the TMTC car as a base for making WTCC, BTCC, WRC add-ons, or use the Formula R car for thier own countries Formula Renault, or GP2, F2, etc.
It could also be a good base for leagues and other competitions.
It should also be possible to mix the car shapes in a mod so you could have multi class races. Perhaps even with each car having its own rims and cockpit shape.
edit/ Templates for all included cars will be released with the mod
Hopefully the mod can be released soon, and also the first add-on pack which is almost ready too

Wonderful idea 
How about some old schoool F1 - like one from 93 from Diego and the one you did for the 88 mod minnows?
I know is very difficult, almost imposible, but i`d like to see an endurance Audi, maybe a conversion from Grid R10 or make an R15 but i know it's very dificult, anyway, great work all involved.

Another car is added - Phillipe's Larrousse from 1988.
I doubt there will be any more cars - maybe a 1993 but I haven't talked to Diego about it, and possibly a sportscar of some sort but that might come later.
