Great!

Just did a couple of races in 1983 with Arrows, finished 14th & 15th...it's hard against all those turbos...

Good morning to all, this is my first message in this forum.
I enjoy Grand Prix since version 1, years ago when GP4 was relesead it was very unstable on my pc, so I almost forgot it.
Surfing the net I comes across this forum and the chance to race my beloved Lotus 91 was too much appealing... so I follow those instructions.

The game works but, I've several issues, from worst to minor...

Cars:
I got just the shape of all the cars, I mean all are white, with the correct phisical shapes, but completely white.

Track
I'm able to use only modern circuits. Despite I choose for instance, Long beach, which was the 3rd gp. In the game, it shows like it should be on Long beach, but I end in Interlagos. This happens in all the circuit.

Visors
I'm unable to rid off of them, despite I choose "no visors" in CSM. On top, the visor show the graphics of 2001.

I 'd like to thank all the people that have spent countless hours developping this mod. F1 was much better then!

Also
Mod for 1979 and/or 1980 and/or 1981 are somewhere available (I'd love to use a Lotus 79 or Lotus 81 or Lotuss 88...)

Thanks for the help!!!

Check that the in-game graphics are set to high.

Make sure that the Long beach track exists in the GP4/Tracks/ folder. You should also have a track profile name that matches the one called for in the mod. Open the mod csm file with notepad and check for a track profile, if it exists it will be in the [Settings] listing. See the FAQ for more info on using TSM.

Open the f1graphics config file, see if the first line is set to 1, if so, look for the visor setting and make sure it is set to 0. Alternatively, edit the globalvars file in the mod and remove the visor setting.

I can not say. Perhaps someone else knows the answer to this question.

For those 2 points..... I'm not that deep... consider me a 6y.o. child...
Can explain them in an easier way?

Thanks!
Sorry no, I cannot make it any easier, and believe me, it is easy.

Mortal

I checked my directory ../infogrames/gp4/tracks is completely empty.

Do i need a 1982 trackpack or is included in the mod? if I need it, where I could find it?

Thanks

More over, I've downloaded the 1979. Different mod can be installed at the same time and handled by Zaz tools?
Download Long Beach? Tony was working on it, but I think the project is not finished, so unlikely you will find it. 1982 trackpack, I do not think so? Again, I do not know, maybe it exists, but I would do this, and without trying, how will you learn?
Create the dir GP4/Tracks/Long Beach. In the Long Beach folder create a notepad file called settings.ini
It must be ini. not txt!

[Settings]
UID=
Name=Long Beach
Year=S4
Country=United States of America
Author=
Adjective=USA
Event=Grand Prix
Wad= <-----------------insert full name of wad as downloaded here (longbeach.wad for example)
Dat= <-----------------insert name of dat as downloaded here
Gpi= <-----------------insert name of gpi if it exists here
Loadingscreen= <------------------insert name of your loading screen if you have one here
Bik=

save the settings.ini file in the Tracks/Long Beach dir

Now open the CSM file for the mod with notepad. The contents will be similar to this. If the lines do not exist, add them, as shown.

[Settings]
SwapINI =swap.ini,anim.ini
PatchINI =
CSMINI =
GlobalVars =GlobalVars_Race.ini
MergeINI =
FixedTrackProfile =1982TrackList.ini <-------------------------------add this line!!!!
HideStWheelDropDown =1
UseCustomProfile =0
ContainsLockedFiles =
TrackProfile=1982TrackList.ini <-------------------------------add this line!!!!

Save and exit the file.

Open notepad and make this:

[Tracks]
Track1=Long Beach\settings.ini
Track2= <------------------------------------------any track you want\settings.ini
Track3= ditto ''
Track4= ditto ''
etc.
etc.

Save it as 1982TrackList.ini into GP4/Tracks/

Any track you want to use must exist in the Tracks dir, it must also exist in the track profile ini and the track must have a settings.ini so it will load into GP4.

Here endeth the lesson.

You can have any number of csm mods installed. Always delete the wad cache to have a clean wad.

search for the f1graphics.cfg file to fix the visors, edit with notepad. It is in the GP4 dir. Or open the globalvars file in the settings dir of the mod and remove the visor setting using notepad to edit.

If you are six years old, get your Mum to help you! lol ;-)

Incredible mod I havent got words:-o

The old classics will be always better than the newest games.
.....only one information, this mod of 82 and 83, will have an up grade, with new textures, with the shadows, as they should be, and perhaps with new cars ..........(B)

thanks

First of all, I'd like to thank Pedro for the excellent job he has done.
I spent one of the most fantastic sunday afternoon yesterday. I think that Webber itself couldn't be happier.... ;-)

Just a question.
Cosworth was revving roughly 13K rpm, also this was, more or less the rpm. I imagine (of course I can be wrong...) the numbers show to be "for the eyes" of the player, more than a real figure.
Will be some how possibile having the engines revving around that value?

Also, the RPM meter on the dashboard, will be possible having it "functional"?

Thanks
Giorgio

the dashboard, do not have the RPM, as it is to seem more realistic in these times of 80's ........(Y)
Great mod mate fantastic job. I just have one question.
How do I turn off the information that is at the bottom of the screen?
