Your M/B definately has an AGP slot, well.. i'm 99%
How old is your comp?
Don't be afraid, just open it, it will be good for all the fans and components in it, there's probably 10 tons of dust on them ;) (my own experience)

Spikeman you don't hafta check to see if you have an AGP slot by opening it up, just click on display properties and it will tell you.

my motherboard has 1 agp slot and 3 pci slots. i'm getting confused on which graphics card to buy. the pci cards are cheaper than agp cards and i can't find any of a decent price

what's the difference between agp and pci anyway?

AGP is faster and better for graphics. It's also solely for graphics.

Horribly expensive. You'd be lucky to find it at any of those places, and it would be expensive to the power of 344633.

Although if you insist on not buying online (it's safe, and good, really), then try a local computer place. They might order them cheaper.

I already said somewhere else, about 50 pounds, but can't you look on their web-site?? This is kinda a case of RTFM, but instead just look on their site instead.

The Geforce 4 mx420 is not 'horribly expensive', infact it's more outrageously cheap.

i'll agree with you there Cai.

i'm gonna try and make a compromise with my dad once he gets back from work but i doubt he'll get me GP4 if he does get the card for me

no matter, i'm still involved with playing GP3-2000

oh, if i do get the card, will my PO change? i've got a 500MHz processor and i don't know much about this so help would be appreciated

P.S i'm stupid :)

I didn't mean to sound rude mate, besides we were all under equipped in the CPU knowledge department sometime ;-)
Yes your PO will drop dramatically, even with not such a powerful processor, and you're right, GP3-2000 still has life even when GP4 comes out (especially as it's up to date, remember GP4 isn't up-to-date out of the box).

Only one problem really...your proccessor will limit the gfx card, ie the card could handle games in 7 months time, but your proccessor could not.
That said, its worth buying.
