"On the other hand, these magazin writers may just know f*ck about F1"

wouldn't surprise me, I read a review of F1 2001 written by a yank who obviously didn't watch motor racing where you turn right as well as left, he said the Melbourne track was stupidly inaccurate because there was red and blue gravel traps. why get people like this to review F1 games? these idiots could end up calling a great game crap

Just saw this on alpha in the forums

"Driving around is excellent. The car feels great. It really feels like you're moving fast (unlike gp3). The force feedback on the curbs is done really well, it brings up a mental imagine of what the curb shape is, just by feeling it through the wheel

Well, they're the positives, but game has some serious problems. Basically, doing a race is no good. The computer cars crash all over the place. I started a race at Monaco, setting CC cars to 100% ability. You'd think I'd be pretty slow, only having played it a day. I was slow in qualifying, but in the race, one-by-one, the leaders crashed out, until I was in the lead. It's pretty ridiculous hearing over the radio "David Coulthard has lost his front wing", then the same for who ever gains the lead. And, who's this "Jimmy Raikonen" driver they keep talking about?

The game's an excellent hot-laps engine. But if you want to race, you need Human players (or GP3/4).

It's such a shame really, because the game is 99% there, just that crucial 1% is missing. Driving around Monaco is a real pleasure. You can feel the bumbs in the road, and the larger ones make the engine rev as the wheels get light. Also, avoid the big monaco bump after the casino, now I know why drivers swirv to miss it

P.S. you need a beefy machine too. I have a 900mhz athlon, and I have to turn off alot of details to get ~30fps.

P.S.2: Turn replay fidality to FULL, or relays look horrible."

Doesnt sound too good....

Actually, having played F1 2002 quite a lot now, I can say I think it's bloody good. But the driving phyics are too inconsistent. You have to yank the "Grip" level up to almost full for it to be realistic. And the cars still understeer strangely in corners. But I'm impressed with EA's efforts considering the crap they've produced in the past...

For Gods sake change your settings... with steering help ON that's what you'll get... Don't tell me you feel like on rails with steering help off?!
