[RELEASED] GP4 1996 Season - v1.0 (after 13 years now!) - NEWS: 1996 Trackpack v0.5 in first post!

Posted by kerleyf1
hi guys you've made an excellent mod. i was wondering if i could have some assistance; for some reason i am unable to load up a performance file using gpxpatch in this mod. the option is greyed out and not clickable. as a result i'm as fast in forti as i am in a ferrari.
The correct performance file should be loaded when GPxPatch is popping up. You have installed the latest version of GPxPatch?

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
i believe so if 4.44 is the latest. i think this is the only csm mod where i cant choose the performance file in the GpxSet tab. note i'm looking at the gpxpatch settings of the mod using csm
I did the videos for this fantastic mod!
The videos are converted from F1RS game.

DOWNLOAD: 1996 videos

INSTALLATION: Extract the files in: "F1 1996 Mod folder"\Data\Menu

IMPORTANT: Check "F1 1996 Mod folder"\Data\GpxPatch\gpxpatch.ini this string:

[Game]
SkipIntro =0

Enjoy!
cheers!
So, the mod made it to rFactor 2 [steamcommunity.com]. Not like they asked for permission or anything, but at least I got them to give credits.

Ah, I thought some of it looked rather familiar.
On the plus side, their physics set-up, imo, drives like @#$%&.

A slight update for the Ligier, a new Suzuka texture, adding the Nippon Ham logo on the frontwing pylon. Thanks to Jürgen for delving deeply.

Put the file to F1 1996\Data\Cars\Ligier\Hi\Suzuka, overwriting the existing texture.

Hello everyone! Are the jordan early season spec available? ( argentine central rear wings), and early year textures?

Thank you very much!
yes, the jordan early season liveries are in the link on the first page of this thread, but unfortunately there is no argentinian shape available
Hi all,

I'm new to all this having only recently re-installed GP4 after many years of absence. Anyway, I'm really enjoying the game again as well as some of the mods out there - my favourite currently being the F1 1997 mod using CSM (must be showing my age!). Anyway, I would really like to run the F1 1996 mod but it runs way too slow- close to 0fps. I assume this is because it only has the lod_0 files and none of the lower ones normally included?? I have a pretty new computer though (intel i7, GeForce GTX 1060) so am surprised it can't handle it. Does anyone know if the problem is with the game not utilizing the processor or graphics card properly, or just that I need some lower lods? Are there any solutions either way? I've tried creating lower lods with zmodeler etc but have run in to problems after many hours of trying and have pretty much given up despite reading a number of useful posts and tutorials on this forum. Perhaps someone out there has created lower lods that they would be kind enough to provide?

Note I can run the F1 1994 and 1995 as well as the F1 1997 mods fine. It's just this one that I'm having problems with. Can anyone help please??

Honestly, I have a Pentium dual core with a GeForce 730 and GP4 turns everything at 1080p, 50/60fps ...
Try to use my f1graphics.cfg.
That's great thanks, I gave your file a quick try this morning and it appears to work perfectly. I'm now at 60fps!

The difference seems to be in one of these two lines:

1 ; [RELEASE] Enable hardware T&L if available
1 ; Full 32bit textures

Both were set to 0 in my file.

Thanks again :-)

Glad to have been helpful:-)
Is there a trackpack for the 1996 season?
Congratulations on this wonderful Mod, it is very well done. Good job.

It reminds me of the great years of F1. :-)

One question: why do cars reach 310/315 km at the most?
I tried in Monza by unloading the wings and more than 315km do not go.

After all these years, I never knew changing the top line made so much difference, thanks for the tip! Now I have beautiful sharp textures at a good resolution with great fps. Now I need to find the setting(s) to turn dynamic environment maps to static to stop some of the cars from being too shiny... or fix the alpha channels

By the way, I always felt the tweaker settings for the rear tyres were too wide - the outside wall should line up more with the front tyre. Has anyone played about with the tweaker settings and would like to share with me?
