they say;

If you want to make your dreams real, your first have to WAKE UP! :)

Marc if you were listening to the movie, you could hear why there's no hands in the cockpit :)
And you have a better view on data anyway :P

:)

LOL, I was contemplating saying hands in the cockpit, but I don't mind the ghost steering because I can see exactly what angle I've got the wheel at, hehe.

Yeh, to get a good view....

But come on!! At least they do a feature to put hands on or off!
I'm sure they can do that!

Hands in the cockpit view!

Oh no no no no no no no... unless they did it absolutely perfectly then it would look totally rubbish and would spoil the incar view altogether. I like the turning wheel on its own, it's nice and as the guy on the video said, maintains a certain aspect of history in the game.

Erm IMO even if the hands weren't perfect, I'd still want them!
I just can't see a steering moving on its own as being realistic :/
Just my opinion :)

Some time ago I still played RS2 (MGPRS2) and there you not even have a moving wheel, hands or without. It was still a great game back then. Most games that have hands (sounds silly to me) look vey awkward. I think it was mate Boba LS who posted a pic from F1 2001 with the caption, 'Who does the steering? The penguin?' - and this is how it looked.

No, you won't get one. You've been a naughty boy! Contradicting elderly forum members and generally being bold as brass. Up you go into your room and switch off the light!

Hey Marc... you can just use the t-cam view if ya wanna see the hands! The cockpit view is to make it seem as though YOU are steering... seeing hands on the screen would take that away a little... don't you think? I'm a fan of the t-cam view! I'll probably use it as much as the cockpit view when GP4 comes out!

Another reason why hands weren't/arent being implemented is because of the modelling and texturing needed, they would have to create every drivers arms with the correct outfit, and that would be a texturing nightmare trying to do some good looking and accurate recreations of every pair of arms. Although I would like to see it done well, there arent many games that have accomplished this, and I don't think thats gonna change any time soon.

yo Sup

Hands on the wheel would get in the way of the LCD and be annoying at 200mph!!

use T-Cam if you want hands. They arent a nightmare to make if the T-Cam has them :p

yeh.. but i want it realistic!! :p
I don't think formula 1 drivers cut off their hands to see properly do they? ;)
Or at least create hands but create an option to turn them off for those who don't like them :p

If you have a wheel, you could watch your own hands

Has anyone else noticed that in the 'Cpithi3_art.bmp' file, (the one for the steering wheel LCDs) there are the numbers/letters R, N, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. This is true for both the current gear and suggested gear bits.

Why does it go up to 7?

Is there a way to get 7 gears in GP3?

If notthere should be 7 gears in GP4.
