WIP - Canberra 400 - Now V 1.0 release at page 2

I’m working on the rFactor’s TDR3 conversion of Canberra 400 street track, where Ford and Holden fight in V8 Supercar ADESCO Championship. I felt the need of a new street track, so after consulting jimbob1’s converting guide (made for TRD 2, but it’s the same for rF) (very hopefull) I decided to build a new track for GP4. I only hope that someone else don’t work on the same track.
I’m starting in build the *.dat files.

I hope to finish soon this (very difficult with exams at university :-P), but I think that the most of time will be spent to create and optimise shadows (last time GP4 builder crashes ‘cause there were too many shadows in one scene) and I do my best for the *.dat and *.col files.

At the moment I’ve some problems with a little beta (I rebuild it twice, for a total of 40 hours of work, frustating), so if someone of the old track modder could help me, thx you a lot in advance. Maybe the problem is moving the finish/start line and the pit? The Flag List is all ok, no problem.

Ah, it’s my first conversion. Be patience.

Here some picks:

Enjoy it!

nice work! really nice to see another australian track!

i've seen the v8s at the track, and it was a good little track! if you want some textures, dont be afraid to ask

btw, if you feel like doing more, how about eastern creek or oran park next ;)

Maybe soon as i can upload this incomplete beta (all complete track, CC-line, all commands, flag list complete; missing kerbs and the most of walls needs to be changed) maybe someone could knows more than me.

So first i start to build the track with Lo2k's GP4 Builder 1.2.1.1, then with the 1.1.08 version, but when i start "race" in both cases Gp4 crashes (running with gpX patch 3.92, low verbosity, etc, etc) and gpX report a log file.

I try with TSM to load this track (and creating a magig data file in the TSM's Manage track), but at the end i have the same results.

So i control the flag list command but here was all ok.

Is this that absolutely b****rd-tight track that's quite handy ripping wheels off your car?

Looking nice, man. The more new tracks and new people working on tracks, the better.

Could you or someone else please re-upload Jim's track converting guide from Toca? I found a link on the RealGPx forum but it's dead.

First sorry for missing, I've just finish some days ago my last exam.

So I decided to finish the whole *.dat, then try it and if it doesn't work i will send you the *.dat.

For now i've done about the 40% of the *.dat, so maybe next week i send the *.dat.

Thank you for helping me! :)
