Spidey

Select your helmet, right mouse button, convert to -> Editable Poly.

Then press 1 (not NUMLOCK 1, but the other one ;)), then scroll down the menu on the right side, and press Weld. Use the 0.001 figure when it asks what number to fill in.

Then press 4, press Ctrl-A to select all polygons, and scroll down almost to the bottom of the right menu. When you see 'Auto Smooth' change that figure 45 to something like 30-35. Then press 'Auto Smooth'

I think your problem with the top of the helmet will dissapear.

I do this with all of my models to somewhat straighten the normals for better reflections and some smoothing of the models. Some cars are a bit to messy (the structure of the car) so the same figures won't always result in the same good results, it's different for every single car or helmet or whatever you want to render.

I thought Spidey was using 3ds Max, and that's where I was talking about.

It looks ok lefou but I think you should think about the looking of your renders. Maybe you should concentrate on one thing at a time and at the end put everything together.

I always concentrate on the car, then on the tyres, en after that the rims, and then I will search for the best lighting settings. Go for a more detailed and finetuned render, you'll notice that searching for the perfect look gets more fun too. And don't forget other programs: Photoshop or Paintshop Pro for changing the textures for the tyres. You should've noticed the bug in the tyres and IMO you shouldn't have posted that render before you would've fixed it. But that's just me, I don't want any bugs in my renders. If you do find some you know I've been lazy ;)

BTW,

This is another car I started yesterday. It isn't interesting for you guys and probably you won't understand why I'm modeling such stupid cars, but that's because I like Volvo's. The sound of the 850T5 is just lovely!
Allthough I never even finished a model I'm learning more and more. I think everything goes better and better but tbh, I'm nowhere near kaid or other modelers. And, I have to admit: when Kaid showed his model, I just couldn't bare it anymore.. I had to go and model again ;)

All this was written at 2.20 AM so don't think I'm crazy, I'm just tired ;) ;-)

Rom1, very nice, especially for the first time! You should use Brazil shadows though, because the shape of the sharp shadows are very weird.

Have been busy today :)
