Made more adjustments, and this is how my render scene looks now:

That's pretty damn nice Greg. Good work, looks like with some tips from John you've already made some good progress.

Thanks for the compliment. I'm hoping to be able to do renders for the GPGSL, and this is one of a few scenes I plan on using. Only issue for me now is the tyres, as no matter what I do they end up either too dull, or too shiny.

Made more adjustments to my render scene, and here is how it looks like now:

More adjustments again, and I now feel that this scene is now finished:

With this scene now finished, I can now work on the other scenes I plan on making for rendering. I'll be sure to post progress screens as I work on it.

If it's possible, does anyone have a hi-res Bridgestone and Yellow Pirelli tyrewall image I can use for the wheels? I think the ones I have aren't suitable for render scenes.

Here is how I have rendered a Bridgestone and Pirelli tyre:

I used the same scene as I was testing it out with both Bridgestone and Pirelli tyrewalls, and I actually like how they turned out.

Nice renders vx110. What software are you using?
@Mullet: Great progress.

Keyshot seems to be a intresting solution for making good renders with just a few clicks, especially after I heard it will be included in the upcoming ZBrush 4R7.

Cheers
Danny

Hey er0nix

they were made by 3dsmax and Vray but I don't like doing it anymore. Got rid of it.... Building up the scenes and then render times about 1-2hrs... kinda boring. :P

Still sad to see you stopping it. But I copy at least half of what you said. Messing around with the scenes is nice, I think. But the render times and the massively slowed down computer make it quite a task. I already considered building up an extra system just for renders so that I have my main system free for other things, but my wife warned me I shouldn't dare it ;)

Yo JohnMaverick

Just do it if you've got so much fun on it. Maybe someday you'll do it for living. A buddy of mine started with painting skins on race cars and now he designs real racing cars for several well known teams and car liveries for car hire companies. Just improve every time :)

I think I had a nice improvement over the past 3 years, but doing that for a living isn't really my thing. You're right though, one should do what one wants to do. Anyway, enough sentimentality, let's get back to topic. All you other talented renderers out there, give us input! ;-)
